isan: Yes, Ajibade did. I more or less reported what she said and didn't bother to fact check. I think I already inferred previously that Ajibade's goal was responsible for our qualifying while justifying Onumonu's inclusion. |

daveP:You know there's something called emotional manipulation? Let's hear Randy's part of the story before we conclude. BTW, if she's right then why is no member of the team in support of her, at least covertly. None at all. The only people in support of her are those journalists feeding from only her side of the story. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: I agree, but they almost always happen much later. Usually when a player is writing their memoir or at the very least when the competition has ended. Right now she's very vulnerable and she will very likely say things she isn't supposed to say even if she doesn't mean to. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 6:30pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
JohnBullMySon: See, it doesn't even matter if members of the team support her (they do actually), but their support stops at encouraging her, but not at the detriment of the team. Like I said, what is happening can fracture the team cause what she's saying in essence is that members of the squad (her own team-mates) are undeserving of the spot they currently hold. If for whatever reason someone gets injured and she's called to replace the her, the dressing room won't be the same. The choice of a players is beyond what they do on the pitch (even though this is important). If a player doesn't help camp spirit a coach is at liberty to excuse them. Just not pleased with how everything has been handled. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Interviews to criticize your manager's decisions are not normal and you know it. My problem with Nigerians is that we are too emotionally manipulated and worship players. Onana was fu*cking sent packing from the WC cos of this, his own was not even public. This is why keep having cases of indiscipline in with the Super Eagles. We tolerate behaviors like this all time. Okobi has been benched severally in her club, why didn't she criticize her coach there? Our players keep doing what they cannot do in the EPL or other leagues. Can you grant an interview because an EPL coach axed you from the match squad? But in Nigeria you hear about players clubbing during camp, arguing and fighting with the coach because we will always support the player. 1 Like |

JohnBullMySon: You can even decide to grant interviews, but like Ronaldo be ready to leave the team. I've said over and again, no sane coach would allow a player back on his team after that kind of outburst. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by JohnBullMySon: 6:47pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
lovewins: I have been a huge fan of Okobi, somehow I still am. But it's high time we start tackling this kind of behavior. Okobi will never do this in her club. It's only with the NTs where hierarchy has been destroyed. That's where they feel comfortable doing it. I don't have any problem if pundits criticize Randy for removing her if the reason was not indiscipline. 1 Like |

lovewins: I totally get u but there is no rule as to when to have an interview. Plus, Ngozi will probably say the same thing 20 years from now. We all saw the post AFCON interview. There was no reason to be hot but she still spoke her mind. She even said Oshoala used to warn her about her mouth . She just has that type of personality where she always says what she means. 2 Likes 1 Share |

isan: Lost which ball ⚽️? Please go and re-watch it, From Ayinde to Okobi down to Onumonu who laid the Assist. Okobi did a great job holding onto the ball under pressure form the Cameroon Defender till she gave it to Onumonu who’s ball landed in Ajibade head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so0hfBaezpA Watch it again from 7:40 |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 7:14pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
JohnBullMySon: First off Onana was sent packing because of a tactical dispute. He wanted to play like he has been playing his whole career and the coach felt different. Don't come and be spoiling our brother's name just to prove a point. Every foreign EPL baller does interviews when they get to their countries and if they are having issues with their coach those questions will be asked. Every coach in the EPL has had to answer questions about what their players said in an interview. Most times u hear them say that words were lost in translation and the issue will be delt with in house. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I've been a critic of Randy but in this Okobi issue, I support her exclusion 100%. 1. That interview was wrong. 2. There is nobody in that team that doesn't deserve her spot except Deborah Abiodun (arguable) 3. Okobi has not really been exceptional for her club. finito 4 Likes |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by JohnBullMySon: 8:09pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
BascoVanVeli:Your assertion about it being a tactical disagreement is completely false. I remember Song saying in the interview that he was disciplining Onana. It is all there on the internet. Onana refused Song's instructions and Song was going to place him on the bench. Onana refused the bench and wanted to be left out of matchday squad. Song responded by sending him packing from the WC. Cameroun's FA supported Song and suspended Onana from the National team. You don't get to quarrel with the coach like that FFS. Secondly can you give an example of a player that granted an interview to criticize his coach? As I said before, it is normal for players to express unhappiness with the coach's tactics after a match, but when you start trying to conflict with the coach's decisions or start trying to undermine a coach's authority, it is a big red line You remember what happened to the Spanish female team? They wrote an open letter to their FA asking for the coach to be removed. It backfired as all 15 signatories to the latter were suspended from the National team. |

JohnBullMySon: We all know Randy will never do his own side till he leaves the job. So we stay with hers till he counters or new one pops to that effect. Your 2nd paragraph about support, don't act like you dunno why something like that would be entirely impossible to see. You should know why by now. How many want hammer cos of voicing out? I'm glad Zee stepped up to help on that IG live sha. Else, e for turn rumble in the Bronx. As for journalists, all of them are loyal to at least one player ahead of loyalty to any coach, and we should understand why it looks that way over the years. It's not today that one start. Colin sef dey loyal to a cause. Judith sef. Ruth as well, and other media guys associated with the inner circle of this team. Although we know Randy has majorly been in their bad books for quite a long while now. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 9:15pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
JohnBullMySon:If Hierarchy has been destroyed, we all know the origin-The nff. Cos why will we be hearing enough rumors that a certain player has to apologize before she can be included in the team? That's like mixing business with pleasure, lack of keeping things professional too. That's the problem. If there is a sense of orderliness and Discipline in the affairs of the super falcons, even many of these journalists go dey fear to do some things. But see the bias of even the staff attached to the team. Sotey players can't even voice out. Iwobi complained about pitch. I bet you if twas someone in falcons, everywhere for don scatter and some gist go pop up here and there about ingratitude and pride. They are gagged, asides all these other legit causes that needs to be addressed. Sad that she said that about her teammates. They are not her main problem, but she stupidly included them innit and now that alone is going to be a good excuse to justify exclusion. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 9:24pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
A credible argument could be made that she DID lose the ball. Watch min 7:33 (slowmo) which shows Cameroon defender Awona toe-poking the ball away from Okobi, while Okobi was trying to turn away. Watch Awona's left leg swing and toe-poke, as well as the path of the ball. Deltamani: |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by JohnBullMySon: 9:49pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
daveP: Yeah. Officially apologizing for misconduct isn't a bad thing in itself but as I earlier said. There's little reason for any player to have personal problems with an official if the official did not degrade his position. Like, he isn't the coach so what was he doing with the player that resulted in such situation. Anyways I'm quite cynical with some revelations here though. 1 Like |

lovewins: Normally,I'm a critic of Randy, but with regards to this list, he tried..it's an okay list... The problem with some Nigerian football fans is that they don't follow our national teams well.. most are probably unaware of Okobi situation at her club and the fact that she hardly starts for the super Falco anymore... Not to talk about that interview she gave about Randy last year... I saw someone commenting that Macleans should have made the squad and I pointed out that she got her chance at the last WAFCON but didn't impress, oga said she wasn't invited for the WAFCON, I just SMH 3 Likes |

JohnBullMySon: Read and weep. Interviews done with the Brazilian, Danish and British media. Discipline? He asked him to stop leaving the box, u make it seem like Onana was out drunk. Onana had been playing like that his whole career, we all saw the champions league final and how much of a joy he was to watch. The coach tried to use him as a scape goat and he wasn't having it. If Song had such a problem with how Onana played he would have said it before the tournament. Not after a loss that he was faultless for. 2 Likes 1 Share

JohnBullMySon: It's always hard to cast doubts on rumors like that cos, personally, imo, i know those are tips of the iceberg. If the can opens, a colony of worms and wasps will fill everywhere that even a corrupt top judge may want to skip proceeding and hand jail terms direct. Bottom line is that house is a cesspit. We are just used to this air of delusion to pretend there is some sort of ordeliness with our sports as a whole. People can't talk cos of fear of being exposed for involvement that kickstarted their own careers. So the ripple effect goes round and around and around. Anyone that pushes factory reset will be the biggest icon in Nigeria sports. Cos even CaF right now is even worse than nff🤣🤣🤣🤣 1 Like |

AkinDS:you're right. The ball was poked away from her feet. Onumonu had a bigger impact for that goal than Okobi, tbh. Swap any other player into that same onumonu spot at that time and they'll take a different, slow response than this one. |

BascoVanVeli:If you read my statements well, you'll understand that 1 and 3 do not fall into what I said. 2 seems to agree with my earlier comments and Jannik was suspended from the first team. I don't think he was ever returned to training. Maybe you didn't watch the BS she said in that interview. Basically calling the coach incompetent and that he should be removed. No topflight coach dead or alive will accept that nonsense statement you're trying to justify. |

Danielnino00: It's difficult letting go, especially if it's a darling one. Ngozi has always delivered for Nigeria, I cannot say her current form or club but at the national level, she has never disappointed. But we all knew one or two of the old guards must go. Definitely not Ohale, most probably Orderga, Oparanozie and Ebi, maybe, (I don;t know if Oshoala is part of the old guards o) but Okobi, this was a real shocker. On the team list, I must say I respect the coach on his choice. The new players *here I mean the under 20 girls) because it seems almost everybody is new hahahaha, are good and should be praised. But I wonder is Abiodun creative enough? I was hoping Ngozi will somehow hold on till Esther Onyenezide matures a bit, because, honestly, we do not have a creative mid fielder in the team. My respect to Ayinde, Ucheibe and Rash, Rash is smart, Ayinde and Ucheibe can hold, but who can create opportunities? If Okobi was dropped, why not Esther rather than Abiodun, I am talking about creativity now, |

JohnBullMySon: Moving the goal post again I see. U said players players don't do interviews criticising their coaches and now I provide proof u are talking about something else. Those pics answered the question u asked. 2 of the players did the interviews at in their countries. We are not talking about her post AWCON interview, everyone here has agreed she was wrong. It's like u don't even know wat u are arguing about. Jannik was suspended because Brendan Rodgers had no use for him. Conte is a bigger manager and he did nothing to Richarlison after his interview. Even Moyes kept it pushing with Declan Rice. A good manager knows how to also manage his ego and that of his players. Like I said players do these interviews all the time. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 1:45am On Jun 18, 2023 |
Danielnino00: She played about a whole season at Eskilstuna and then moved to the Liga F where she played 10 matches. She mostly came off the bench but let's not make it like she was frozen out or something. If the interview hurt the coach's feelings he should have stopped calling her at that moment instead of making it seem like everything was cool. |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 6:28am On Jun 18, 2023 |
For the forthcoming #FIFAWWC in #Australia & #NewZealand, @NGSuper_Falcons head @CoachWaldrum wanted former mentor Lauren Gregg as his assistant coach. You will recall she was at the #WAFCON2022 in #Morocco, where she fell gravely ill, during the tournament. @thenff made it clear to Waldrum that for him to have Gregg back on his technical staff, he MUST take one keeper from @TheNWFL to Australia. Which would have meant Yewande Balogun would not have made the team, as @Nadoziechiamaka & @TochukwuOluehi have secure spots. Waldrum opted to pick Balogun, and not take an NWFL goalie as the third keeper. That meant Gregg was out. A top NFF official has this to say: “Randy has done what he wanted, concerning the selection of the team. The dropping of @NgoziOkobi is a shock to us. But it is his decision, as he is responsible for the selection of the team. “No one from @thenff interfered, so he can’t complain about that. We shall see how we perform in Australia. But on a personal note, I have to say I am not hopeful, from how we have acted in the last few months. It’s what we put into preparing for the tournament that we will get out of it.” Hmmm.
