Hi everyone. Please, how long does it take to process study permit? I submitted my application on June 2nd and it has not moved since then. When I check the processing time, it says 6 wks.

Your application is still within the normal processing time, however, you can track your application using ircc tracker. Note that you will have to register freshly using your uci number, it has nothing to do with your ircc login details. Hope this helps.

Good Evening All,

I have been following this thread for a couple of months now.

We got served breakfast for my son's application for the following:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.

Main Details:
Minor 16+ years
Total POF N21.3m (about CAD62k at the time).
Total Cost: Annual Tuition of CAD17.2k, Living CAD11.5k, Others CAD3k and Flight 3k
4 years course duration

Timeline:
submitted on May 15, 2023 with upfront medical done and passed and refusal came yesterday June 17, 2023.

Main concern: School didn't require tuition deposit and none was paid. A lumpsum of N7.8m entered days before submission but sponsor account has in and outs of that range. letter of bonus payments was provided

Have submitted request for CBSA Gcms note today but timeline is really tight as admission is for Fall 2023.

francophone134:
sorry about the denial. I just feel that sometimes there are more to this denials than we actually can tell. Fine, the money is sufficient enough to cover for intended purpose of visit but they may have to look at other factors which we may not see. Factors like, does the person's sponsor has other responsibilities. E.g maybe other children that he has to cater for?that is just one example. Who is sponsoring and what the person does is very vital. Also they may have to look at how regular money enters the account and sum it up for the last 4-6 months to know the range of cash that enters. All the best in your reapplication. Also, assets are very important. Sponsor has to show not only cash at bank, but also assets of value (material) It will end in praise!

The POF is not at all sufficient.

The reason for not approving the visa is justifiable if you look closely into many factors in this application.

Next time, if you tidy up POF among other factors, your chances of getting a positive decision is high.

If you state out the application details here, people can give you good advice-- although not professional.

However, I think you should delete your name from here for privacy reason.

I implore anyone who may have copied the post with name in it to edit the post by deleting the name.

This is for someone residing in Canada currently.

If you know someone living in Canada who can request on your behalf, then you can pay $5: else, you have to pay more by using one of many websites. Just type the word "...order for gcms notes..." on a search engine.

When the bank processes your MBS, you will be given a 1 page print out with a ticket number (like a passcode) on it. That is what you attach to your proof of funds documents.
With the ticket number, the embassy can access the statement of account.
Please does this mean the Canadian embassy will not be able to access my mbs sent to them without the ticket number and the passcode, while submitting MBS on Stanbic ibtc internet banking, it was sent to me as an SMS and there's no way I can attached it with my application. Thank you for your feedback please

Sorry about the refusal, you will need to work on the POF, the fact that the course is a 4 year course that is being undertaken by a minor imposes additional financial responsibilities on the sponsor, so these are some of the specific issues
1. You said the sponsor had a lump sum payment of N7mm and that his account has transactions of such amount in that range, and letter of bonus payment was submitted, the question then is, if he has transactions of these nature, how much is his salary?
2. The transaction pattern on the sponsor's account could have confused the VO on the sources of income of the sponsor.

A sponsorship letter signed by her and a notarized gift deed are sufficient, but you can also add a Chequers if she’s doing the transfer through a Cheque. Make sure the transaction is visible in your own Bank statement and the description also tally with her details

When you’re given admission, your admission letter would come with the tuition for your first year …. Semester one is 9,534.20cad

I’m not quite sure what you mean by form A
