Our olympic team get together not Senior team. Yes, he came to watch one or two of our matches but did not get a senior call up until he was a regular at Arsenal. The present Crystal Palace boss called him not to honor our call up. Facts only! wayodude: |

But Morocco could not beat Cape Verde with their full squad. So what is your point? You referenced Morocco beaten Brazil in a friendly so which one is more important to Brazil- a world cup group game (whether they have qualified or not) or a friendly match? The fact remains Morocco has not beaten any African team since after the world cup. Facts only! TheSuperNerd: 1 Like |

You typing this is laughable!lol How many of them went to the World Cup and started a game? I believe they were so important that Clemens had to select a squad full of home-based players to the 1994 world cup. ecoco2014: 1 Like |

Marjoribanks: He PLAYED for Nigeria as an Arsenal kid!!!! Iwobi's debut was against DR Congo in August 2015. At the start of that same season he was a regular in the Arsenal U-21 team. No offence but will not comment on this one again. I don tire. Several times people get things wrong and reiterate it with confidence. If I get a detail wrong and you correct me I just say thanks and leave it there. 2 Likes 1 Share

charlesemeka85:Deep down within you, you know you have not scored a point all through your comments. I watched King Fahd 95 doen through the last U20 World cup in Argentina for which I subscribed on my own DSTV not going to viewing centres to watch so go deep your silly head in mire. If that putty brain of yours cannot decipher that we need to encourage inclusion of the best home-based players in Super Eagles is my point (especially in forthcoming dead-rubber games like the last group game with Sao Tome and in other would friendlies against reputable African teams) then you need a mental review. |

Marjoribanks:Wrong Analysis from you. As at 1990 through January 1991, nine or ten players out of his eventual 22-man squad to USA 94 were all home based. |

ecoco2014: I don’t knw y majority is not getting dis guy point…what he’s saying is if we re facing d likes of São Tomé,car and co we don’t need to parade our full strength team b4 we can defeat dis kind of teams with ease…we shld be able to have a kind of team b(mixed of foreign and local based players dt can easily execute such matches wout hassles . If u look at it on d oda hand,it’s more embarrassing parading ur full team to teams ranked above 100 in fifa rankings, yet getting flogged in ur home. We av seen several cases like dt😀 1 Like 1 Share |

daveP: Yep. This is why I want the FG to make massive investments in our domestic league (revamp stadia, get TV deals, encourage private sector investment, fix imagery, modernize,etc.,). Doing so will not only improve our football but it can create many jobs. 1 Like 1 Share |

elyte89: That suggestion did not make any reasonable sense. Till tomorrow it will not make sense. Can you give an example of a national team that does that? Even when Portugal is playing Lithuania, Luxembourg etc. Ronaldo still plays if fit. As far as it isn't a tournament or league, resting players for smaller matches is foolish because you will prevent team cohesion and confidence. How many matches do we play in a year to be keeping our big players away? And then when they don't play as a team we complain. |

elyte89: There's nothing embarrassing about using your full squad to play Sao Tome... If Argentina were to organize a friendly game today against San Marino and Haiti, you think they won't invite Messi? Ronaldo has scored plenty of his international career goals against the likes of Estonia, Gibraltar, Lichtenstein, Andorra,etc.... There's no point in inviting new players when they would be discarded quicker.. we have world cup qualifiers coming up in November 2 Likes 1 Share |

ecoco2014: It doesn't matter the opposition you're playing..always invite your best players ... You're talking as if this is still the 1970s- 1990s when home based players filled up our national team because they were the best we could afford.... Today, home based players use the super eagles as a getaway to obscure European leagues .. there was this guy who won the NPFL top scorer award a few seasons ago and immediately jet off to Saudi Arabia second division... One of the best players in the Rivers United team 2 seasons ago got a move to Bangladesh league... The points you're raising is why CAF introduced the CHAN... Let the NFF put enough attention into that one... 1 Like |

How many European based players did he drop, if any? lol! The fact remains only few Nigerian players were in Europe then and he invited all of them. When we had more European based players, he selected them above the home-based players. Just stop this irrelevant disposition. Rest abeg! ecoco2014: 1 Like 1 Share |

ecoco2014:the nff should only invite a 65% home based squad for friendlies . the only people that deserves that match are the fringe and new players we are yet to test. We saw what a squad of home based players did against Costa Rica. Nigeria is gracious when it comes to allocating spaces for home based talents. All the youth teams are majorly for home based players. The super eagles is and should only be for the best Nigerian talents. The national team needs a squad that stays together for long and picking players that are going to be dropped once they sign for alfarjush fc in jordan cannot help the team. How many home based players in keshi's teams signed for a decent team in Europe? |
