CDS nor get any clout na COAS dey call the shots. CDS only does what C-in-C allows him. C-in-C can bypass CDS and directly instruct COAS.

During Buratai's time as COAS, CDS was useless. C-in-Cs are very happy to make minorities CDS because in democratic setting in 9ja CDS is just the senior military bureaucrat.
