in terms of the abundance of opportunities, Ontario, British Colombia and Alberta in that order are your best bet. But if your Phd is in French or you are Bilingual then Quebec becomes your first sure banker while O-BC-A follows in that sequence.

Atlantic Canadian provinces have smaller population compared to Mainland provinces hence you may be lucky to clinch the relatively few opportunities there hence Nunavut & Nova Scotia may be your lucky charm there.

My kids go to Catholic schs and have been going there since we came to Canada. So far, no issues. There are French immersion Catholic schools, however, they are not as many as English immersion so they may be farther from where you live or they may not even be one in your neighborhood.

You might want to research where they are located in your city of choice and rent near there.

I've visited Oshawa. Just like most other cities, there are some rough neighborhoods and some good ones. I personally prefer Whitby: calmer, nicer and mostly middle class residential areas. I don't know much about Ajax.

Honestly, there is no bad city. Choose a city that is most convenient for the needs of your family (accesibility to jobs in your field, good schs for your kids, affordable rent etc) and research good neighborhoods in that city.

Just like when we were growing up. Some parents didn't want their kids to get "spoilt" and enrolled them in an all-girls school. The rest is history.

Couldn't have said it better. The best option is to simply stay back in Nigeria, and even that isn't entirely enough. Only, this time, the society and the school will discourage your child from all things LGBTQIA+ in every way. Doesn't mean they can't still pick it up. You are right. In today's world, parents will play the biggest role in how a child turns out. This is why parents need to show good examples to their children and earn their trust. If parents establish a solid parent child relationship bond, they will trust and believe you better than their teachers. Parents need to be involved in their children life teaching them good and bad from beginning and guiding them to the right part. They will be tolerant of others with their nonsense since it is now part of the world we live in but they won't subscribe to their views cos they are emulating their parents.

I think what is happening in schools depends on the ideology of the teachers. Schools that have teachers into those nonsense or sympathetic to the nonsense tend to try to push it to children but schools that don't have don't bring it up. My kids go to catholic school and up till now, I haven't seen anything bad going on. I follow their curriculum and notes bumper to bumper because of this nonsense.

My kids tell me what they learnt in school. In some topics where there is a potential to chip the nonsense in, I inquire deeply to see what they were told, so far so good. It seems there is none of those people in their school and I pray it remains so. My kids already know about this nonsense, I have already told them about it and we had a long discussion on it. The trick I think parents should adopt is tell them and get them exposed to it before someone or the society tells them first. Because if they society tells them first, they will paint it like a good thing and make it enticing but if you tell them first, they will hate it and because they are aware, they can't be swayed when they society introduces it to them.

But then, I still want to believe that the only people who will be influenced by that lifestyle are people who are naturally inclined to it. Any normal person will be disgusted with it no matter the preaching. The only way any normal person will subscribe to it is if they point a gun at them.
