I love this jugement, if all politicians who stole money in public office were convicted and told to return same amount they stole, I think this will go far in making them to avoid stealing while in public office.

I believe it will but been an election petition case, it will continue. If he hasn't obtained a Stay of Execution from the SC (heard he has appealed), then during reading of the judgement, the tribunal will strike it out. A convict cannot approach the Court to seek for a mandate....

If he gets a Stay, better for him but one thing is sure, he can't be acquitted. The judgement might reduce his fine further but uphold the Conviction.

Whether he pays or not, the Conviction is upheld. The fine can only cause a release not shielding the fact he has been ex-convict.
