P.S. I wish Nigerian christians (well even many of the Christians in the U.S. also) would truly pray and seek the Holy Spirit for a true understanding of the Word of God. That is not how the Holy Spirit operates...using one human to "lay hands or knock-out" someone in order for the person to be blessed. The concept of "falling under the anointing," is not biblical.

Those people who fall screaming are pretenders and nothing more. Follow them home at the end of the day and you will see their lives probably even more miserable than yours. There is nothing godly about any of that ritual. If you go watch pagan rituals, you see people wey dey do that for there too.

Wow...never experienced that type of thing in all my years of being a Christian. I cannot imagine that. I would be uncomfortable watching something like that.

There is 0 percent doubt about it. No one has ever touched hands on me either for me to feel assured of His ownership of my life.

What is the definition of "anointing" as it applies to pastors? Also how do some get it and some don't? I don't understand the different levels. Why do people need to fall down as a result of an anointed person touching them? Where is the biblical example of this?

That depends on if you are willing to submit to the holy spirit. That's what I feel I am still learning.

I can't give you any more than I have experienced but I'll tell you this. Submitting to him is much more than a feeling it's avoiding everything he dislikes which is taught in the Bible, willing to take corrections from him and letting him lead.

But make no mistake dear sister, he is with you as long as you are a Christian, no one can believe jesus is lord without the holy spirit's conviction.

But he will be in you if you submit to him and ask God for his presence. It is written if you earthly father's know what is right to give your child how much more will your heavenly father give the holy spirit to those who ask.

Like the apostle John, people fall under the anointing when there is an intense manifestation of God's glorious presence.

The glory of God overwhelms our spirits, no man can stand God's presence without any reaction. Even angels shield their eyes in God's presence.

The glory or manifested presence of God is immeasurable. The more you spend time in God's presence, reading God's WORD, fasting and praying, the more the anointing is increased upon you.

Not just pastors, but all children of God can keep increasing in the anointing by spending more time in God's presence especially with fasting.

Moses spent 40 days in God's presence and his face shone. Your face will shine as you spend more time with God and His light in your spirit will overwhelm others or "slay" them.
