-People in that country don't believe in hard work -They rely on tourism -Prostitution is rampant -People there don't value education -They're very racist -Indians own most of the businesses -Indians have to use local light skinned or Chinese looking people to run their business, so that locals will buy from them -Drug use is a major problem there -People in the country think transvestites are normal/acceptable/beautiful -There are tons of transvestites, and many with extreme surgery to look female 2 Likes |

Op thanks for this awesome thread. Please any update will be appreciated. Specifically, please can you give a detailed expense budget needed to come into Thailand as a student. You can cover the following: 1)Average annual tuition fee for an affordable University (I know you mentioned it before, but please throw more light on how the instalment tuition payment works) 2)Student visa application fee 3) minimum account balance needed for visa application 4)Flight ticket 5)Any other expense Also, please currently, how easy it is as a NIGERIAN to get an English teaching job? I already have a BSc degree, IELTS and a TEFL certificate. Thanks alot as I await your response. |

Hi, everyone. I almost got scammed. If you're looking to work as a teacher in Thailand, ensure you keep your eyes wide open and scrutinize the recruitment agency thoroughly. Preferably, consult Google search, Google maps and watch out for the minutest of red flags. In my case, a so called recruitment company by the name Global Travel Quest posed as a recruitment agency. They are not. They are fraudsters. Do not engage with them. Specifically, one Alex Krygois and Bogdan Warhol are the brains behind the recruitment scam. They will tell you everything sweet and rosy, give you a forged contract letter, try to befriend you, pose as it they are truly working on your visa, then ask you to forward half of your flight ticket (to be reimbursed after your first week of work in Thailand). Do. Not. Fall. For. Them. Be aware. And share with others. |

Hello bro, thanks for your insight. I want to inquire if it's mandatory and stipulated by the Thai embassy to notarize our documents. I went through the checklist of requirements and no where did I see anything related to notarization of documents. Also, did you have to book or schedule an appointment with the embassy or you just went there directly? Kind advise. Thank you |

Hello able op I trust you are doing well in Thailand. Are you still in Thailand? I just got an admission in a school in Thailand, I am expected to make a tuition deposit while I am still in Nigeria, after which they will process my visa for me from Thailand. Is this the normal process? I was expecting that I will be the one to process my visa by myself here in Nigeria. Please I'll appreciate a quick response to my inquiry. Thanks a million |

cutieme: The best way I know so far is to be on ground to be able to land interviews. You can apply for a tourist visa and within 3 months you should be able to find something. You can send a mail for more detailed explanation. |
