Blessed New month to everyone of us here and congratulations to the new PPR holders.

I did my biometric in 2021 but I got a refusal, then I was not married BUT now I am married and want to reapply again for both myself and family( my wife and months old baby). My question now is can I use my old biometric for both myself and my wife, since I am the main applicant or my wife will have her own biometric taken ?

I understand biometric last for 10years.

Also can someone please assist me in applying for a two years diploma program in university of Regina, May 2024 intake. The interface with my mobile phone isn't helping to get what I want for the application.

Yes, your biometric is still valid if not up to ten years since the time you did it

Your wife needs to do biometric. Your child doesn't need to.

I think you are the one to apply for admission by yourself. This is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) platform. If you are stuck on something, please ask questions here, your questions will be answered by people who may have passed through the same process in the past. You are encouraged to DIY. If the UI/UX is not good on mobile, you should try a computer.

Meanwhile, if you don't want to DIY, you should employ the service of a qualified professional to assist you-- this is seriously not encouraged. You should do it yourself.

Good day house. Thanks for all that you do. I have applied to the US embassy through an agent a few times and there were lots of wrong information he provided about me because he handled the application from start to finish. I was denied the US visa on these occasions. I then stumbled across this Canada thread and realized I can pursue this on my own and I have been following the thread since last year. The main problem is I dont know how to correct these misrepresentations, for example, he changed the name of my university to another one. With the Canada student application being more document oriented, what can I do?

Have you been banned from entering the US?

You shouldn't judge yourself if you have not been caught for misrepresentation.

No matter your situation, IRCC does not seek to judge you based on your past situation with another country so long you are not a terrorist or a risk to Canada. Just be crystal pure.

Just approach it with pure truth this time.

If you have been banned, state it in your application. If you have been refused visas a hundred times, state it truthfully.

Thanks @showyoung. I wasn’t banned from entering the US, I know the US and Canada shares information and this is why I was worried.

LANDING GIST…..

First of all, I’d like to return all glory back to God almighty for his mercy over me throughout all the processes. So the journey story: My boarding at mmia Lagos was a smooth one because I work at the airport as government officials before my resignation. The airline (Egypt air) checkin staffs request for Acceptance/ offer letter, evidence of payment of tuition, visa, and I was equally asked to login into my student portal. After confirming all, we boarded about 1400 hours and landed at Cairo at about 2000 hours. We were lodged into hotel at Cairo about 0230 hours next day and we were to wake up 0400 hours as checkin begins 0600 hours to fly to Toronto.Meanwhile ,the same process of confirmation of studentship also played out at Cairo airport. The students were asked to show acceptance letter, payment of tuition fee and to also login to our respective school portal. Some of the prospective students we traveled together had issues here as they were not expecting repetition of all the checks. However the 12 hours flight from Cairo to Toronto started about 0900 hours and we landed in Toronto about 1300 hours local time. Immediately we landed, everyone proceeded to arrive can checkin, I scanned my passport and the machine printed a slip for me. I proceeded to Canada border security agents CBSA where I was asked if I came in with fish or meat. I was later directed to a counter where they do attend to student. I met a long queue and I was on the queue for about 1 hour until my turn. The officer that attended to me asked me the name of the school am going and I told him. He asked if I have made any payments to the school and I showed him receipts of the payment I made. After inputting some details into his computer, he told me to sit down for my student permit.

I want to use this medium to still encourage Nigerians that may be interested in traveling through the students route not to be discouraged. It’s not that difficult at the point of entry as some people here have painted. Note that I will be starting my program during the fall sept and I have entered 2 months before the program. When you get to the entry point, be calm, don’t be tense, answer the questions the officer asked politely and it will come through. I appreciate all the info I got from Nairaland. All our dealings will end in praises. Shalom

I am open to help anyone that needs help in terms of answers to questions and clarifications on the study permit.. such persons can dm or send messages to dayborade @ g mail dot com

Were you asked proof of fund or address you are going too at the airport as a student ?

Good day house. Got my PPR on Friday. Can I submit my passport to a different VAC centre than the one I did my biometrics?
If I can, what are the charges, and how can I pay? I would really appreciate a reply as most dates are getting booked quickly. Thank you.

I guess it's not late, move those funds from microfinance bank to a normal conventional bank and explain the money trail by attaching Statement of accts of both banks with a letter of explanation and reference letter from the microfinance bank if he doesn't want to chop a big L.

I would have suggested you do a gift deed for him, but you will have to extensively explain why you are dashing a friend 5m to support his education.

If you submit to a different VAC Centre , there is a fee attached to it. As at 2021 I believe it was 25000 I don’t know if things has changed now.

In this light, you have not been found wanting of any incriminating act. You should not pass judgment onto yourself.

People who have had 3 or more US visa denials in the past have got Canadian visa approvals. You just have to be pure.

Hello ood morning,
Is it possible to appeal any visa denial or refusal in Canada portal? or is automatic resubmission of new application one needs to do ?

Thanks in anticipation.

For a student visa refusal and as per the Immigration Refugee Protection Acts and Regulations of Canada, there is unfortunately no rights of appeal . The only option for you is to seek Leave to a judicial review of the Case officer's decision at a Federal Court in Canada. This is expensive and time consuming and even if successful at the federal court and the officer's decision is overturned, your file will only be sent back to be re-determined by another officer- Another waste of time and i do not recommend.

I always advice to :

1. Request an ATIP request to see a comprehensive reason behind the officer's decision.
2. Submit a new application addressing all the concerns with new evidence and explanations in your letter of purpose.

You will include your spouse in your SOP.

Are you applying with your spouse as a dependent on the same application?

I am looking at putting the application at the same time, I haven't checked the portal so i don't know if there is a section to apply together right away or I have to finish mine first then start his own afresh.

Thanks so much. God bless you
zubizareta:

They will ask what you are doing in UK because they will definitely find out that you have been in UK for over a year now, and they will eventually find out its for a MSc program which you were silent on in your application which will be taken as misinterpretation. So it's inevitable since you are currently in UK.
Go for a diploma program and allow your SOP do the work explaining why you have to do a diploma program in Canada despite having done MSc in UK.

Make a gift letter and tell them you are giving a gift to your friend for her studies in Canada. Get this gift letter notarized. The government would like to know more about you, Your own job letter, bank statement where the gift came from, if you paid taxes or not , your employment letter if working or business registration if self employed. Stuffs like that.

In the SOP, you friend will have to explain the kind of relationship that exist between the two of you that would make a non-family member to shell out 5m and hopefully the case officer agrees with your explanations.

During your study permit application, you will need to prove strong ties to your country of origin i,e Family tie, job/employment ties, asset ties and so on, Your wife and children back home gives you a stronger application than if applying together with your wife.
