In Nigeria's case like they say Rome was not built in a day and that become so true. We aboriginal Nigerians are so impatient. It took 144 years after independence for the United States to be what it is today (civil war, social movements, riots etc). In fact it was until the 1990s that Republic of Ireland (where I lived for second half of my life with last year being my last year there; I am in the Federation since January) became an advanced nation with the Celtic tiger. We dont know what we have until it gone. Nigeria's federal structure is the "best" in the world heck the US 50 states dont even enjoy autonomy like Nigeria's 36 states. We are also the most lax country on the planet (and most conservative)- Street trading (hawking) of anything? You will be fined and even jailed if you tried that in Ireland; Motorcycle (Okada) taxi? yeah you dare do this in Ireland or even Napepe (Tricycle); Prostitution services (Ashewo/Olosho) is not a criminal offence here unlike Ireland; same with Polygamus; same with Child marriage (no bullsh*t as Romeo and Juliet law i.e. a 13/14 year old having relationship with a 19/20+ years) in fact any village in nigeria you can date an 11 years old (under like 10 is crime and that make sense) as long as it's not "forced". Loudspeaker noise? Yeah the Irish Police (An Garda Siochana) will get the person to court ASAP. Beating your child? Jail sentence there as well in fact last year a man got 15 years in the pen for that. There they have Road Tax, Income Tax, TV License, Generator License (Noise Tax; 24hrs electricity but now super expensive cause of Russia-Ukraine), Carbon emission Tax, Sugar Tax, insane price for things like Cigarette, Alcohol, Drugs, Fishing license, Taxi (car taxi, like I say before no okada or napepe there) etc. Nigeria is so blessed we have everything it just the hearts of our leaders but that now going to stop. Nigeria is going to shoot to stars in everything. Like I say "Success spring out in the valley of uncertainties". Nigeria's federal structure (central government and constituent sub-national states) is also cheap compared to Ireland which is the most expensive unitary state (central government only) in the world (just the other day I was reading the government in Dublin (capital city) spent €144 million on lawmakers which is like #331 billion in Nigeria that alone will make a state become like Dubai yearly) and also cheaper than US which we kind of copied (but do it better) since States dont have bicameral legislature but unicameral, and dont have their own constitution which is literally a duplicate of the federal government but they have their own laws, chief judge and court system, etc. (State Police is literally the only thing now). We also have our own currency (which is a blessing in disguise). FYI: I am 29 years old. God Bless Nigeria, Long Live Nigeria. 4 Likes |

The best way to relocate to the UK is through the Tier 2 Visa (Skilled Workers’ Visa). Anything else and you’re jonzing. Even if you go through the student route, try as much as you can to switch to the Skilled Workers’ Visa if you are lucky to get a COS (certificate of sponsorship). By the way, OP, you are very dumb. I know people in the UK doing very well. Can you guys just take a rest with this “anti-japa strategy”? Different strokes for different folks. That it didn’t work for you or that you are hopeless there doesn’t mean it’s same for others. You don’t realize that all people want is sanity. Money is secondary. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

Treadway: Wisdom has one destination. A sage in the deep forest of Asia will reach the same conclusions on different topics as one in the mountainous forest of Enugu. The flavor of their knowledge might be different, but the conclusions always resemble themselves. If you study the works of philosophers, scientists, religion, stoics, etc, you will see that they are all saying the same thing, just in different ways. If Buddha says ¨Life is suffering¨, the philosophers (eg Nietsczhe will say ¨To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering´´. Christians would say that this world is not your home, it's filled with suffering, but in heaven, there is no suffering. Then the stoics (eg Marcus Aurelius) will say that you must see suffering from a neutral standpoint, and expect it say the way you expect joy. If one has natural wisdom as a person, then most likely, your thought will resonate with most of what I write here. 10 Likes 1 Share |

guobe: many that relocated there sef, not like they are really suffering back home, to afford such money to go abroad is not beans. Aside people that do it for sake of the future of their kids, all those unmarried young chaps that had good job back home that relocated are needless. Many were deceived, many followed friends, many were convinced by the houses we are building back home. The fact is, it gets better with time, but not something that comes easy or without it's sacrifices. I almost gave up too, but silently grinding on, today an another story. I didn't travel for school, I am a high level professional in my chosen career today thanks to the exposure. 10 years has been a long journey - next year i will be 45, i hope to go back home, only fly when the need is there. Abroad no easy, a boring place, you can't have that vibe in Nigeria where everybody is in everybody's affairs. You do too much police go knock ur door. Just mind ur business. 4 Likes |

GeneralPula: But he is a student on a student visa. Students in US etc also work to sort bills. For US studies, you can only legally work on campus unlike UK. We seem to have such a high expectation for student visas. Its not a work visa. It only gets better from here. He should sit tight. At least, he even has job to pay the bills and still complaining. 1 Like |
