So, we get the 3 points and forget about the lapses in the team that the coach has refused to address.. so when he eventually gets sacked for failing to meet other objectives, we're back to square one?

Rohr started well with the team...it was evident in the first few months.. After the 2019 AFCON,he regressed...even you can't deny it... We qualified for the world cup playoff at the death... His sacking wasn't a mistake, the timing was.... And Rohr's competency was made known when after his sacking,it was only Benin republic that found him worthy of beinh their manager...
Peseiro is just another Rohr in disguise..no improvement whatsoever
Which lapses my brother? Midfield? All the goals we have scored came from where? Has he taken us to a tournament? Give him a tournament before u pass judgement.

What is Peseiro's pattern of play since he took charge? What are the improvements you have noticed personally. Note that, outside luck, those are what will determine if he will do well in a tournament or not .

Your own Opinion. Players who work with him say he is a tactically sound coach and knows what he wants. Sadly you are sitting in your house making judgment. Like I said your own opinion.

TBH, this is a silly question. I'm surprised at the number of self appointed football analysts here who keep on repeating the question here.

Name one coach in this world with a single pattern of play? Name one? Football is dynamic and your opponent generally determines how you play.

Styles like possession, counter attack, free flow , formation/positional play have no single approach and often get changed or mixed into each other depending on game conditions. No football pattern is mutually exclusive from another.

That's why we have coaches. The job of a coach is to read the state of the game and adjust the tactics, coalesce, separate in a way that gives his team a better shot and getting results. If football is played like a chess pattern then there would not be much need for managers.

It's only when you have a super team like Mancity or Guardiola's Barcelona that you can afford to leave things at autopilot sometimes especially with easy games.

I know exactly what I'm saying. AFCON was always the objective in his contract. Per the contract signed in 2022, he will be sacked if he fails to win AFCON or left to NFF discretion. If he won, then NFF must renew his contract. AFCON per the old calendar, was meant to conclude this month, after which the contract will be reviewed. The end of his first contract was intentionally placed just after AFCON.

However, AFCON was shifted, and this changed everything. He can't possibly be sacked because he didn't fail to win it. It was shifted. He also technically did not merit a renewal so it brought about a controversy that I'm now saying it deserves to be renewed so he can retain a chance to achieve his objective.
I don’t think he has done anything to deserve getting a renewal, struggled against decent teams, refused to address areas of need in the squad I’m not keen on the NFF retaining him
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by chrisooblog: 1:41pm On Jul 06, 2023
Exactly my point. The games he's winning are matches we are ordinarily expected to win so what else has he brought to the table? Are our midfield transitions better? Is our defense more solid? What's our best formation?

Rohr for all his limitations we already knew what formation he loved to deploy and could see his semi-conservative style (to be fair he did try to break out of the mold from time to time)

One thing that sticks out about the team under JP is the way we concede goals at will.

I've watched the SE enough times under JP to conclude he's not the solution.

He lost only one game. Where was the struggle? Friendlies?

So if you're a club owner you will sack a manager because of friendly matches?

Excl: Manchester United have improved their bid to Inter for André Onana as he’s priority target 🔴🇨🇲

◉ New proposal now worth €50m add-ons included, it’s around €45m plus €5m add-ons total package.

◉ Opening bid worth €40m plus €5m in add-ons was turned down by Inter as they always wanted €60m.

◉ Manchester United remain in contact with Inter as believe €55m could be right number to close deal.

◉ Onana agreed personal terms with Man United.

Talks continue. 🧤🔛

No National team will play like Man City or Real Madrid no matter the coach you hire.
Pep, Mourihno, Feguson, Wenger won't spend millions of dollars buying players if it is that easy.
Even at 1994 AFCON we scrap through the semis against the Ivorians on penalties and was lucky in the final against Zambia second team.
We just have to be patient with whoever is employed.

How do you come to the conclusion I "intend to achieve" something by stating verifiable facts? If anything, it is getting people acquainted with the NPFL and driving interest to the league.

As per North Central? Don't be ignorant, Middle Belt has always been a part of Nigeria's history since time immemorial. The North Central or better put geopolitical zones were a creation of the military regime for political convenience. The geopolitical zones asnis isn't even constitutionally recognized. I didn't have any political intentions when I made the post, but you read yours into it.

I don't understand why some people are so keen on the man getting a renewal when it's glaring that he hasn't done anything.. Dem say he meet objectives... NFF are lowered the bar that's why....
Better we let him go now... If he takes us to thee AFCON and can't meet his "objectives", he would be sacked and we would be left with trying to get the team to work under a new coach in the midst of a potentially tough new world cup qualification....

I don't agree with sir K on what he posted as he's definitely undermining KC which is definitely on the extreme. That said, stating that Ivan Toney, Mitrovic and Watkins are quacks too is another extreme on the spectrum.

When somebody says that KC will score 40+ goals in the Championship 🏆 and I refute that ludicrous claim, thats not being extreme but the contrary.

Using a balanced ⚖️ comparison analysis ,with Ivan Toney, Mitrovic, Watkins, to get a balanced rational perspective. No player has been able to hit 40+ goals in the history of the Championship apart from Mitrovic.

Is KC by any stretch of the imagination on the same level as any of those player's.❓ So how could it be undermining to KC.

Dude V.O. is on top 🔝 of the game right now and close to being world class IMO. This his first season where he has got to being highest goal scorer in a top league .

It's one thing to get to the top it's another thing to stay there. So next season is crucial for him to maintain his current trajectory.

Where ever he ends up the expectations will be HUGE , if he stays at Napoli he will be under less pressure. If he goes particularly with a transfer fee exceeding £120 million, then he absolutely have to meet those expectations.

Nunez scored 9 goals from 29 games he is now looking like bad market, such are the high expectations, that come with big prices tags.
