Hi guys, is it possible to defer admission to next intake after visa has been granted and are they any implications?

You can defer but you will need a new COE and you will have to lodge another visa application

-The student visa processing time is now longer so choose a semester that gives you enough time to get another visa grant
- Your bank statement will be updated to fit the new floating exchange rate
- The Australia home affairs has changed some policies that affects student visa. You have to read up on that on their website

My friend you will not pay a new application fee! You will just update the new COE and probably your bank statement balance

Really, I didn’t know

but I didn’t say he/she has to pay another fee, I only mentioned lodging another visa application.

I’m unaware if it’s compulsory to pay or not (the poster needs to do some research on that)

If visa has already been granted - I feel poster might pay

If visa was not granted before the admission was deferred - you simply update your documents (COE & bank statement (if requested or necessary)

i have already registered for courses and picked timetable, now school is saying if we dont resume on or before 3pm on friday 21st of july, i cant differ, i can only file for Intermission ,which is more like leave of absence.for that intake. thou i wont need to pay any fees, but i will have to reach out to BUPA to change my insurance date.
..sincerely,i do not pray for it to get to that stage.
its over 6 weeks now. i submitted application on MAY 25, BIOMETRICS ON JUNE 2, MEDICALS ON JUNE 6. like day 43.
No added document was requested and my status is on FURTHER ASSESSMENT since like june 9

The matter is tiring truly. From my analysis, Most Student applications from india, Pakistan and other continents lodged in June are currently being answered, meanwhile African or Nigeria students applications is still at 1st week of may.
The picture below is the grant of someone from Pakistan.

I am still trying to understand why the timeline for Nigeria or Africa is different. Is it that they are reluctant?
The mistake i just regret making was booking for a flight. It is well

I almost did the same thing of registering for my course on study connect.
The good thing is your fees will still be intact if it gets to that stage. I think someone asked a question concerning your situation at the online pre orientation.
To be on the safe side, try to defer before 21st july.
On filing for Intermission. Godforbid, if it was a situation of visa denial , will deakin still refund 100% of your fees?

It is well. lets keep hoping for a positive outcome

i was the one that actually asked the question during the orientation, but im very positive about the visa ,no negative mindset atall .. but that timing is very important.... july intake is the sweetest because of the free holiday after T2. almost 4month free to work unlimited hours.

Waiting time is about 8 weeks, I guess you have to be calm and pray about it. I have also been waiting for a similar period of time. Hopefully it ends in praise
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by samlaura16: 11:12am On Jul 07, 2023
Mine is May 19th. I’m hopeful you will get reply by Monday. That one will give those of us waiting hope. Don’t forget to update us here. The waiting can ruin someone’s day, cause one can’t even make other plans cause you are awaiting visa outcome.

My agent was booking for my medical appointment yesterday, luckily I got 10 June on their website. We booked it,then the appointment came out with the date 5th July, which was 2days ago. My reference is on it I have tried calling their office but couldn't reach them.
I have booked my ticket to abuja. Can I also go on with the payment of the medicals?
My agent said the date Is not going to be a problem so far I have a reference number.

Also it seems the site for Biometrics is having some challenges.

When is your school resumption date?
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Jogolhino: 4:26pm On Jul 07, 2023
Just go to their center/office with your reference and speak to someone there. They are very understanding and reasonable. Try not to leave there without a positive reply. Regarding your payment, I assume it's IOM Abuja, there's one POS guy standing outside you can pay to. He gives you a receipt and you take it inside. I paid on the day I went for the medical
