zubizareta: Well, in my SOP, I stated it clearly that my business account is different from the account I used as POF strictly for the purpose of my studies. There were 3 different occasions I transferred funds from my Business account to the account I used as POF as shown in my POF account. My SOP shows that I have 3 different running businesses, and I stated that my wife who has been running these businesses with me will take charge for the period I will be away for my studies to ensure that I do not run out of funds. Please, note that I supported my claims with official and court documents, as well as pictoral evidences. |

BRO my advice is just wait for your decisions or a message from IRCC.. The old rate may be used since you submitted your application before the conversion rate went up... I have a Friend that got his Visa 2weeks ago and he applied second week of May using the old rate..He said if that the new rate was used for his application, his POF would have not been enough but to his surprise, His visa came out..So just wait and be positive.. Dessymond394:Yeah, there are a lot of people that have gotten approvals with the old rate, I think they use Lock-in date, I know the policies are not really the same, I saw on UK government website, that the rate to be used will be the rate of the day you submit your application not the date your application is being reviewed, so I guess they may be doing same 2 Likes |

zubizareta: Thanks for the response, how would I explain leaving my job when I’m not the primary applicant who will be studying,? Would it make sense if I say I’m on leave of absence? My wife will be on study leave |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by NorthernshoreTS(m): 9:52am On Jul 09, 2023 |
EkaAkp:Hi EkaAkp I would advice she applies without you so you can serve as part of her home ties. Once her Visa is approved and she gets to Canada and is enrolled in school, you do your medicals, travel to Canada and Flagpole (since you have an existing visitors visa) so as to get a work permit. I would assume your wife is going to include your daughter in her application, I hope there is no custody issue between you and your ex-girlfriend and that you and your wife have legal custody of your little girl. Godspeed. 2 Likes |

macdeeza:I will advice you go back to your IRCC portal click on the additional document section then upload the new school admission letter and also explain the reason why you changed school there so they can be aware of the resent changes cause when you get to the point of entry where they will issue your study permit all your file will be there and once they notice any anomalies Omo them fit send person back ooo |

Hello Fam I want to provide some insight into passport submission after PPR. For Lagos and Abuja Residents You may wish to book an appointment at VAC Lekki or Abuja to submit your passport in-person. Alternatively, you can go any nearest UPS or DHL and have them courier your passport to the VAC (this does NOT require an appointment). For now, I STRONGLY advice against paying VFS to courier your passport back to you after your Visa has been stamped as there have been reports of delays in passport delivery by VFS. Go to the VAC and pick up your passport in-person For Non Lagos and Abuja Residents I would advice you send your passport and accompanying documents via UPS or DHL to the VAC in either Lagos or Abuja. If you have all the time in the world before you have to travel then you can pay the courier fee to VFS so that your passport can be mailed back to you, however be aware that you may experience significant delay in getting your passport delivered back to you. Alternatively and this is a better option in my opinion, you can either travel down to the VAC location you submitted and pick up in-person or you fill the 3rd page of the consent form with the details of a friend or relation who resides in Lagos or Abuja depending on where u submitted, so that the person can pick up on your behalf. Note if you wish to submit your passport to the VAC other than where you captured your Biometrics, you are required to pay a transmission fee (it was N9410 as of last week but I dont know if this has changed, so kindly confirm first) I hope this helps someone and if anyone has a need for any clarification on the above matter, you may contact me directly. Best regards. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Abigbo:the answer is yes even with your sponsor you still need to put a certain amount in your account let say 5 to 7 million to show that you already have your feeding allowance and funds to settle your immediate bills aside the fact that you will be sponsored also ensure theirs is tier between you and your sponsor 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by NorthernshoreTS(m): 10:50am On Jul 09, 2023 |
Omotayo25:Correct. However, in-person collection is still in full effect. I picked up mine via proxy some days back. Please if there is anyone that has recently been denied in-person passport collection from VAC Lagos or Abuja, kindly let the house know. Best regards |

Abigbo: Have you been working or doing business for a while? If yes then it's logically expected you contribute something to your education. Also your sponsor being your brother inlaw, you will have to prove to VO why he shud sponsor you. He can also demonstrate his willingness to send some part of the sponsorship money as a gift to you. Then ofcourse you will use your sop to explain home and economic ties, why your brother inlaw should spend tens of millions sponsoring you, explain his capacity to be your sponsor, that's his source of income and attach all supporting documents. Your sop will play a strong role there. 1 Like |

EkaAkp:Yes. You can take a leave of absence and give it a shot. Would have been alot easier though if you were a business owner. Why not her apply alone anyway since you already submitted your visit visa application, if and when hopefully hers is approved, she can immediately apply for you to join in a sowp. 1 Like |

Omotayo25:. This isn't allowed. The stipulations of ircc are clear. He can only switch when he must have entered Canada and enrolled as a student in the dli that je was issued study permit with. If he does what you are saying, ircc will immediately request he applies for a new study permit if he wants to change to the new dli. 5 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by zubizareta(m): 11:40am On Jul 09, 2023 |
moruff77: You don't need to inform ircc as long You travel within the period your loa is till valid. Ensure you have the new LOA to the deferred new date and ofcourse you will explain at POE why you haven't traveled earlier. When you are finally in Canada, you can apply for study permit extension to complete your education. 1 Like |

NorthernshoreTS: Thank you very much for this concise explanation. Just a little personal question... I did my biometrics in Lagos and I have decided to travel down to Lagos without appointment to submit at the UPS office close to vsf office. 1. Will I still address it (i.e send my documents) to Lagos Vsf office or directly to Abuja Vsf office from the UPS office close to Lagos office ? 2. After stamping if I decided to pick it up in person after sending through Courier, where exactly will I pick it up, at the courier office where I submitted or the main vsf office in Lagos? Thank you. |
