Governor Otti should see this through.

If Abia gets it right, together with Anambra, it can become the new headquarters of Igbo trade.

Alaba will easily be relocated so that “Yoruba Ronu” people can use the land to build BRT park like they’ve been longing to do.

If only Igbo people can tap the Aba technologies and production. They should be the next China where we should be running to for products. Just and injection of billions would make the east a desirable location for production of goods and services.

Enyimba Economic City is a game changer. It will be the first modern city in Alaigbo.

I believe once they start executing, a revolution in city planning will start because everyone will try to copy its design.

This city development has been on design board for 2 decades, they keep recycling with new marketing gimmicks.

You need Yoruba to help you develop and turn this city into reality. Ibo lack knowledge in urban development.

- Legal battle resolved with a settlement payment of 26million USD to EEDC in February 2022.

- Paid 400million NGN to Federal regulatory agencies in the power sector.

- Aba Ring fence network disconnected by TCN in April 2023 and reconnected after 10 days upon payment of 120million NGN.

- Currently, Aba Power purchases electricity from Niger Delta Power Company (NDPC). This is then distributed to its customers.

- Osisioma gas turbines expected to start electricity generation before September 2023. This will make Aba Power Limited the first DISCO to generate and distribute electricity in Nigeria.

- Customer debt to Geometric is 2.4billion NGN while Aba Power is 4billion NGN.

The 188-megawatt Geometric Power plant in Osisioma Industrial Layout in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, will start to generate electricity in the next two months, according to Bart Nnaji, chairman, Geometric Power Group.

Starting with one of its three General Electric brand turbines, the second will come on stream once the performance of the first turbine is declared satisfactory, by the team of engineers led by KS Energy of Turkey and Ben Caven, managing director of Geometric Power Aba Limited.

“We have completed building four brand new power substations and refurbishing three substations inherited from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), in addition to providing thousands of kilometres of cables and wires, as well as world-class tubular poles available in only highly industrialised cities such as Tokyo in Japan and San Francisco in California.

“All that remains now is to provide fuel or gas to the Geometric Power plant, through the 27-kilometre gas pipeline from Owaza in Ukwa West LGA in Abia State, to the plant at Osisioma Industrial Layout on the Aba outskirts.

Read this news from yesterday about geometric power. They have started generating power starting with one out of four turbines. This is a big deal.

Geometric Power Plant to add 188MW to national grid

By Sulaimon Salau
09 July 2023 | 3:44 am

Electricity generation in the country is on the verge of receiving a boost as Geometric Power Plant in Aba, Abia State, is set to add 188 megawatts (MW) to the national grid in the next two months.

The Group Chairman, Geometric Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji, who is also a former Minister of Power, disclosed this in a statement, saying the plant would start operations with one of its four General Electric brand turbines.

He added that the second would come on stream once the performance of the first turbine is declared satisfactory by the team of engineers led by KSE Energy of Turkey and a former Executive Director of the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), Ben Caven, reputed to be the only person to have run the generation, engineering and transmission divisions of the Authority before it was privatised.
