gannod: Poor did not vote for APC, and APC got minority vote, but the opposition was so divided that they handed over to the APC in essence, (unless the court rules otherwise, but I am not holding my breath). Having said that, considering that all the main candidates were saying subsidy has to go, and considering that we have a raging debt problem, and a new subsidy extension would require us to borrow, government had to remove subsidy. Whoever was occupying Aso Rock. (Unless your name is Sowore....). |

worksmart: LOL...there always has been a subsidy. If there was none, you would have been paying N580 for one liter as early as September 2022, when landing cost was N502 per liter then. You are now sounding like Buhari who in 2014 said there was no subsidy. Subsidy has always been there. In 2012, fuel was costing N97, meanwhile it cost N99 to bring in one liter. 2015, fuel cost N87, while it cost N132 per liter to bring it in. In 2016, fuel cost N145 while it cost N165 to bring it in. And in 2023, landing cost was N341, while fuel was being sold at N195. You have not been feeling it because government has been protecting you from the actual price of fuel since 1973....which is why this price increase is shocking you. All our fellow African countries that have no subsidy meanwhile know how the thing pinches. There always has been a subsidy. Otherwise, why are you asking for them to bring it back.? Why ask for something that you think does not exist.? |

maasoap: Good point, but if we kept it, the subsidy costs would rise with cost of production of fuel, (let's even forget about smuggling and corruption)...and eventually it would have reached a point where it ate all our revenue, plus money borrowed. Then how would we fund our budget? When we reach that point, poor suffering now would seem like kindergarten stuff. |

Mainman 7 or what did you call yourself, your long epistle is blaming Buhari, but you failed to blame the person that foster buhari on us. The man have quietly retired to his village in Daura, when the self-centered man went to invite him back to politics, now tell me who the greatest blame. You talk of cabal that are stealing our oil, these people, are they above the law? How many of them was arrested and our money stole collected back before subsidy removal? What sacrifice has he made political to make? What I believe is that anyone that wants the masses of this country to suffer more than what we suffer under Buhari, God will divinely intervene and save the masses in Jesus name. 4 Likes |

benjaminlawson:Hate to break it to you but God is not coming down to intervene in a land filled with tribal bigots and hypocrites He has already given you enough natural resources, talents and know how to succeed He also gave free will which is why bigots were short sighted and greedy enough to support this madness Please leave God out of this 7 Likes |
