Odin13: The Yorubas are not the ones in this eviction mess. The Yorubas have not even been particularly involved in nuisances like this outside the country. It's always the Ibos and now they've added this one to the list. Rather you focus your insults on the Yorubas. It's obvious you Ibos have an in-house problem. Your so-called sit at home is targeted at your own brothers and sisters and you think your problem is the Yoruba man. You're obviously delusional. Go and deal with your problems. 5 Likes |

Okay... How exactly is this an embarrassment to Nigeria??! Even an Mbaise man in Imo state is not even embarrassed not to speak of a non-Igbo Nigerian! Matter of fact, Mbaise people are even more concerned about Simon Ekpa's Ipob disrupting and endangering their lives! Abeg, make una sort una selves out...! |

The white people knows how to play scam. The management might as well rent the property to another group of people too. Or one powerful person who lounge in the hotel might order the management to shut it down. Or maybe they are too loud |

Odin13: Please don't carpet all Yoruba. The Yoruba MURICS who look towards Sokoto for directions are mostly the ones who make all the anti Igbo noise online. They also insult their non Muslim Yorubas. They enjoyed Awolowo's free education but misuse their education on religious bigotry. The majorly Christian Igbos therefore is their major target for showing of their Islamic extremism and prejudices. |

The developers are trying to develop America. This must a serious case of jealousy by the Americans. If they're laying claim to have developed America, just leave them, na their way. If they're claiming that without them American economy will collapse, please forgive them If they're insulting Americans, please forgive them na follow come character. If you Americans pursue them, where else will they go. Ordinary Seychelles just show them pepper last week. You should have even reported them to their elders before taking the actions of chasing them out like rats ( Sorry, that won't be necessary, I almost forgot that they don't respect their elders). 4 Likes |

I wonder why some f**ls will just come to nairaland and start spreading wrong and false information. This is very wrong. The event wasn't shut down please let's be guided. The management sensed over crowding and alarted the police to be onground. So interaction BTW the organizers and the hotel management went out of control, they where on the opinion that when the payment of the event hall was made the hotel management didn't give them a particular number of people expected if not they would have worked with the specified number and nobody is causing trouble is just an harmless event that was all. The event wasn't shutdown pls 1 Like |

Warl0ck:It was caused by inter tribal marriage. A prince married a Gambari woman. The woman influenced her children to marry Gambari men and women. The stool is hereditary, so when the Prince became King, with the influence of his mother, he changed all rulers and everybody to Gambari. That's what Chinedu intended to do with Lagos but failed. Ooni is making the same mistake by getting married to strange women. Is Simon Ekpa not from Ebonyi that he is holding all Igbo state ransom? 2 Likes |

People should ask why the hotel shut down the event. Most likely it was due to noise and general unruly behavior. Just because you pay for to use a hotel hall, does not mean you are excused from their rules. Nigerians are a very indisciplined people who are quick to shout 'discrimination' when they are the ones who don't obey the rules and get punished. |

Sharpsharp00123: Americans know and proudly say that Igbos help in developing America. Igbos develop Igbo land as well, if you can afford the transport fares, visit Igbo land to see and coroborate this. Akinola Aguda was used by Arewa to declare that Lagos is no more fit for capital of Nigeria. Your people occupying the civil service then moved out of Lagos into Abuja. Many Igbos in trade businesses stayed behind in Lagos. They paid taxes to LASG for development of Lagos in addition to proceeds from crude oil in the old Eastern region. Get education. No country in the world exists where everyone cannot go to certain places to settle. 1 Like 1 Share |

The first question that I need to ask is, "What was the reason they were shut down?" Did they VIOLATE any of the terms of the rental agreements? How many people were required to be in such a space as per city ordinance? Usually, there is a city code that limits the number of people that could be in a public space (indoor or outdoor) for an event for safety reasons in case there's a fire, and the space MUST have both ingress and egress. For instance, if the space is meant to accommodate only 500 people and they have more than that, of course, the manager of the hotel would have to bring to their attention the violation and ask them to come into compliance. Knowing Liegerians and their arrogance, they probably waived it off forgetting that they are NOT operating in the zoo where anything goes but in America. And in order NOT to incur a fine and or possibly lose its license to operate, the hotel had to take actions including but NOT limited to calling the cops to shut down the event. However, if none of the above was the reason and the hotel had no other legal basis to shut down an event that was fully paid for, then the hotel has a lawsuit in its hand. But I seriously doubt that the latter was the case! |

bjdon:Maybe Biafra meeting. Normally, you will be asked what you want to use a place for, if you do something else, they dismiss you. E.g. you can't do any party more than 6pm at any hall belonging to a Catholic Church due to evening mass. Prior the mass, they dismiss everybody. |
