Reno Omokri on Twitter: "When Abiola was in jail, the Yorubas did ...

When Abiola was in jail, the Yorubas did not destroy their region to force Abacha to release MKO Abiola. Rather, they used diplomacy to turn Abacha into an international pariah until Abacha was forced to offer Abiola bail (which Abiola ultimately refused). Mohammed Abacha was in prison for three years. How was he released? Kano elders sought an audience with Obasanjo in 2002 and publicly prostrated to him. The next month, the court freed Mohammed. Asari Dokubo was in prison for treason for two years until Niger Delta elders used diplomacy to get President Yar'adua to release him in 2007. What militancy could not do, diplomacy did! I cannot imagine any truly intelligent person saying until you release our son, we will keep destroying our region. Who loses? Fight intelligently, not forcefully. You are cutting your nose and thinking you are spiting those in power? And nobody can even counsel you guys. It is either you know better than those who want to counsel you and start to lecture them, or you insult them. The Yorubas used diplomacy as leverage. Kano people used it. Niger Delta used it. You, too, use it. It will serve you better than this path of self-destruction.

No government can give in to force. The minute they do, they are finished, because others will smell weakness and engage in their own violence.

Oya, insult!

Lol Abiola died in prison, good diplomacy?

Asari Dokubo was never a freedom fighter he could be easily bribed into silence.

I have never supported IPOB or Sit at home but Reno's arguments are just too shallow every movement that promises change whether personal or societal will always involve some level of suicide or self destruction

This useless mofo has been shamelessly trying to "apologize" to Tinubu with all sorts of such statements.
Stating the obvious like it's some great revelation!

The SW that was engulfed in the worst protests with severe destruction of government properties never ever seen in history? From Ojuelegba-Fadeyi-Anthony-Iyana Oworonishoki-Oshodi-Agege were the hotshots. Late General Sanni Abacha really showed shege promax back then.

I was part of the June-12 1993 riots to actualize the mandate of the late chief MKO Abiola in Lagos here.

Main reason I've always been against ipob and the sit at home nonsense. Self destruction has never made sense or yielded good result. I can never like Nnamdi Kanu for causing so much destruction to the southeast while his family is permanently based abroad.

Abeg leave everybody to their strategy joor let them continue the "Sit at Home" but they should please increase it to 5days/Week.
Saturdays and Sundays should be exempted so that they can do their Owanbe and Religious engagements.

This way the FG will feel the heat more and release their hero to dem.

Abacha became a pariah after the execution of saro wiwa and nine ogoni activists. It has nothing to do with abiola.

Court has freed Nnamdi Kanu but Buhari refused to release him. If Tinubu is wise, he should release Nnamdi Kanu and see how peace quickly return to the region

>Melford-Dokubo Goodhead was seeking oil contract.

Yes, I do not support sit at home, but it makes people not to forget Nnamdi Kanu, like Yorubas abandoned MKO and his family to die in the hands of the fulanis.

@Reno, come home and shake this table. A runner-away fugitive, what is pursueing you from Nigeria? Buhari is gone. Or is EFCC or DSS after you?
