Nigeria problem is greediness not population. One Nigerian will use 50 billion naira to build a house,he is not staying in the house nor rent it out. He only put one Baba to be guiding the house for 10k salary. Imagine how many people you will employ if you invest that 50 billion in a particular business. Some idiots have houses in every state of this country and it not rented imagine if you use that money for business. One person is stealing over 200 billions from a government agency. For Christ sake how will that agency survive. I know of a governor that has more than 200 cars and he is not using those cars for business. One person in Lagos is collecting more than 50% of Lagos revenue since 1999 while Lagos is having more than 15 million people. Only one man use 2 two bullion vans to convey money to buy votes. For Christ sake what else if not greediness and corruption. 28 Likes 3 Shares |

And the sad thing is that our population is predicted to almost double itself in 2050 to 400 million. For a country which is not productive, an explosive population is a recipe for disaster. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Johans2023: Do you have proof that one man earns 50% of Lagos revenue? The only thing I agree with you about is that of excess greed and selfishness. In South Africa, if a community has a billionaire, you will feel his impact on that community even if he doesn't live there all the time. Community service is prioritized there. But in Nigeria, you might see a muddy road leading to a community which has two or more billionaires. For example, the road leading to Peter Obi's village. We have more billionaires than any other African countries, but our billionaires are only concerned about their own family, and the ones who are showing concern for their community members or kinsmen are those preparing to go into politics. But all this does not mean that population is not also a major problem. Because we don't produce much, we are unable to sufficiently feed our teeming population. Demand is way higher than food supply, and this creates demand-pull inflation. Also because we import far more than we export, factoring in raw material and import cost into our goods, we create cost-pull inflation for ourselves. We also don't gave good managers of resources like we had in the person of Obafemi Awolowo who saw to it that Nigeria fought the Biafran war for 30 months without borrowing a single penny. 15 Likes |

mrvitalis:The fact you needed can be easily obtained by the literacy level of Nigeria to Germany and UK. Also, in Nigeria, the general practice of polygamy aids high birth rate. Some religion even permit men to marry like 4 wives. Polygamy is almost non existing in Germany and UK. It's common sense and simple maths. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

Big population is good. Look at china. We just need to make use of the population. Government can raise almost all needed money from taxes. If the government can engage millions in agric jobs, agriculture can generate more money than oil. 2 Likes |

slam7000:it is mathematically impossible. Let's say each year one million babies are born but also death in those years is half a million . Still does not exceed 90. Million. These overbloated numbers is used by politicians for resource allocation corruption. Once you go outside of Lagos is when you realise Nigeria is underpopulated . It's just that a quarter of the population of Nigeria ran to Lagos . Go to all the villages you can walk 10 miles without seeing a single person 6 Likes 1 Share |

Tunechi5: Population is a problem. Those countries, infrastructural development, job creation and every other thing goes hand in hand with their population. While here, it is evident and obvious that No good leaders, no proper resource management, not enough infrastructural development, not much job creation. Yet you people keep on adding more to your population even at a fast rate than your development. Tell me why there won't be breakdown? Secondly, even at the individual level. They earn considerable amount of money, yet they birth 1 or 2 children. I.e they'll have enough resource to cater for the 2 and live a good life. Here you don't earn good, yet you give birth to plenty children hence more liability that requires more money. Isn't this dumb? I am not taking the blame from any leader, however in the face of what we are in, is rising the population or you as an individual giving birth anyhow is the solution to the challenges? In fact tell me 1 country that is doing well and the birth rate is high? 11 Likes 1 Share |

Tunechi5: Population is a big factor. A country population should rise at the same rate as their development rate, then you'll have everything balanced. Reverse is the case here, your population is going 3X than your development. What do you expect? Is rising the population the solution? 14 Likes 4 Shares |
