Tunechi5: You sound like an almajiri with a chinko phone and free 10mb. How can you say such trash openly? US has 20x more natural resources than Nigeria! Even crude oil, they have far more than Nigeria! What is the population of US? Probably double of Nigeria but Texas that is just one state out 50 is almost the size of Nigeria! Northerners and other Muslims in Nigeria should continue marrying 4 wives. Continue marrying teenagers and be multiplying like rabbits so you can win election or get more allocation. However, know that you all are creating problems you eventually not come out from. 14 Likes 5 Shares |

jmoore: We need good leadership in africa to make use of our big population. Jagaban will do well. Japan economy was ahead of china economy few years ago, but with good leadership china is now the second biggest economy in the world. Soon china will be ahead of american economy. China will become the biggest economy in the world. |

Tunechi5:It's not just manpower. US has the world's largest coal reserves which is used for power generation. They also have crude oil. In fact they currently have more 44bn barrels of reserves; though they bought some of them while some were locally harnessed. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Tunechi5:this tmrubbish is the main reason why we remain like this, politicians would aways fight for their interest anywhere in the world, when theres a future for the country, the interest of the politician lies in that country not the Nigeria scenario. Get your facts right, we produce liabilities more than we produce productivity. 4 Likes |

Christistruth03: Is Nigeria looking for population? Population even without the necessary apparatus e.g like infrastructure, development, leaders... To sustain it. And your solution is to keep on adding more number of people abi? If your population is not rising at same rate with all that is required to have a sound country it is a problem. E.g your 50k salary is not increasing, the rooms in your house is not increasing yet you kept on adding more children. What do you expect? 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: Germany And Nigeria Population In 1980 Compared To Now by wirinet(m): 9:39am On Jul 12, 2023 |
Tunechi5:Population is our number one problem. How do you expect the same standard of living as 1980 when our population has quadrupled but with the same (or even less) income - oil revenues. Its like a man with 3 kids on a salary of 100k now trying to raise 12 kids on the same N100k. Obviously, his family's poverty level will increase. We will continue getting poorer and poorer until we start controlling our population. And one of the factors against effective population control is religion. The Muslim and Christian religions with accounts for 90% of the population are against birth control, abortion and sex education, which are the most effective tools against population explosion. The US example is a very poor example. First the US population increase is not due to increased birth rate but to increased immigration. In recent times the US has been putting policies in place to reduce immigration and thus control population. The US has far more landmass and resources than nigeria. US land mass is over 4 times that of Nigeria and its oil production also more than 4 times, not even talking about its level of industrialisation and development. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

This is just our problem the only meaningful nigeria get is oil and the oil cannot go round the whole country. We only blame and depend on govt without majority of the citizens planning any better things for their life but only blame govt as if when they will be giving the chance today they can make any difference. Re: Germany And Nigeria Population In 1980 Compared To Now by Childfree: 9:53am On Jul 12, 2023 |
Gajagojo: That's not the issue. Probably then Germany has 50m population they have 1k industries, 1k hospitals, 1k schools... Now they added 20m to their population and accordingly their industry, school, hospital... Has increased to 1,500 each. Is that the same in Nigeria? Why should this country be adding to its population at a faster rate than it development, production or amenities? It is obvious and evident we are not that productive, no much infrastructural development that should match our birth rate. Is the solution to keep on adding more population? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Gajagojo: A resounding YES. In 1980 when our population was around 60million, we were producing our own food, clothes, shoes, fuel and even cars. We did not need to import much items from abroad. That was why N1 was equal to $2 then, because no one needed dollars to import anything. But today, we cannot even produce enough food to feed ourselves, we need dollars to import paper, toothpick, rice and petrol. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Gajagojo: I'm sorry to refer to our parents in the 70s, are they no living better than us now?? Let me bring back history to you. Before Nigeria dam river Niger to generate electricity, some other African countries wanted to dam thesame water for electricity( which means we won't be getting more water to dam), but because of our location, there was agreement between ECOWAS that Nigeria should be the country dam the water. The agreement was Nigeria should start supplying electricity to those countries at a cheaper rate, quotas was reached , but Nigeria population started exploding, hence we started have few electricity supply per day, but other countries like Togo, bennin are still enjoying today 4 Likes 1 Share |
