GloriousGbola:You see that North gangan na the reason I want make proper census hold. Nigeria na the first country I don see for this whole world wey get more population for hot arid region than for coastal towns. I never see that kin thing before. Even if we factor landmass it still doesn't make sense that Chad and Niger that are bigger than Nigeria never mind Northern Nigeria with almost similar people now have significantly lesser population For every governor with 20 kids there are like 10 men wey no born at all. These things dey always even out. Plus I don take train from Lagos to Kaduna and I know how many empty uninhabited land I see just for Niger state and across parts of the North. 1 Like 1 Share |

A40:You made a valid point but using INEC released figures of 94million registered voters should give us an idea that we are definitely more than 150million. Those 94million are just eligible adults of let's say between 18 to 50. Population of children under 5 in Nigeria is estimated to be 29million alone. Factor in the rest age groups, old people, the disabled etc and that figure is looking very accurate. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:13pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Melvyn11: I tend to believe more A40. What was the total number of voters in the last election? And I know a lot of people between 15 and 60 turned out to vote Its noteworthy that our electoral numbers keep decreasing from 1999 as more technology gets introduced while our population keeps increasing since we dont have technology for that |

raumdeuter:INEC said only 25million came out to vote but 87million people took their PVC from the 94milliom registered voters. 18 not 15 is the minimum age to vote in Nigeria. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A40(m): 4:19pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Melvyn11:The same registered voters we were seeing infants and toddlers for the list? Let's leave story for Jimi Solanke. You will have a tough time selling Nigeria figures to me. A country that has not conducted a proper census in eons Telco data will give more accurate data on what our range of population actually is. Even Lagos population I no believe say e reach 20m |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Melvyn11: 4:24pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
A40:I don't believe INEC stands to gain anything from giving out fake and over bloated eligible voters number so I think those numbers are accurate. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A40(m): 4:27pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Melvyn11:Lol. Are you joking? The same voter register I was seeing 7 year old boys and girls abi another register? You realize there are also dead people on that register. See just free that matter. Suggesting that Nigeria tripled it's population in 40 years from 70m to 200+ is not believable IMO |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:28pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Melvyn11: How many do you know who are of age between 18 and 60 who didnt vote in this last election around you? US population 330M, last election 150M voted. That is almost 50% turnout Nigeria 250M, last election 25M voted 10%. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:30pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Melvyn11: Not INEC state political parties use those numbers to negotiate with politicians. They will register every goat cattle, even multiple registration. Many registered in multiple states. When its time for election thats when they fail accreditation |

A40: You will be surprised that the north will still come up with over inflated figures if the census is conducted one million times and hereβs why : Most of those guys up north who practise polygamy ; when enumerators go to their houses to count them, they will show u their male kids but will tell u the number of their female kids and wives . The chances of an enumerator seeing and confirming the actual number of their females ripe for marriage and those already married to the maigida is very very slim. They will ask u to respect their culture and just do ur job . Some of the politicians will still influence the eventual results of the census because they know the population figures will be used in planning and resource distribution on a national level . The fact that enumerators that will be used are not imported from other regions but the same region being counted is enough for the politicians to influence the eventual outcome. U know politicians need those figures to negotiate |

raumdeuter:They're telling us consistently now that 10% of Nigerians vote in every Presidential election. Does that even make sense. I always use Kano and Lagos as example of this population fraud. Shebi Kano and Lagos as at 91 census were neck and neck. 9m Them never comot Jigawa oh You now gave Jigawa 4m. 4m what? Human being or antelope. So they're saying Kano has over 4m more people than Lagos ππ Total population the whole Nigeria was about 85m so you're telling me in just 30 years we added 130m more. Look at the IGR of these states and tell me the population makes any type of sense. Even Kano |

Melvyn11: The more their figures are bloated, the more they can defend and justify their budget. I highly doubt their figures You will see a place in Lagos with 1000 registered voters in that PU...Then you will see that 85 voted Ahn Ahn. 2 Likes |

BlueRayDick:We are not a serious people. All our foundation is based on lies Are they the only polygamous part of the world? Why Saudi, Chad, Sudan no get that kin population. For every man packing 4 or 5 wives there's battalion of men without a partner and no means to reproduce Most arid places around the world are the least populated from Australia that our good Doc Afrodoc can confirm to other parts of the world, the pattern is the same. Now I will not take for granted the sheer size difference in landmass (which upon deeper research tends not to matter in population distribution) however it is clear that this population thing is more contrived and political than anything else |

Niger and Chad are combined 40m. And almost 3 times the size of Nigeria. Similar people, religion, language not exactly similar climate (more deserts in Niger) But I'm supposed to believe that Northern Nigeria alone is more than 2x more populous than both countries π |

Capaldi:They think we are fools. That train ride really opened my eyes cos where are all the people shey dem dey stay for bush ni? No settlements nothing you go dey move you no go see anything like human being. I keep saying it. If it's by polygamy and borning plenty. Saudi is x2 almost x3 Nigeria. Why don't they have population |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:25pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
A40: The military governments in the past did a lot of damage to this country . The way they kept on creating states by fiat and the race for each state to justify whatever resources being allocated to them is one of the factors that led us to that point of being dishonest with our population figures . Anybody that has been to the north will confirm their are various places u will see large expanse of arid land with few people inhabiting scattering all over the north. Just look at Kano being allocated 44 Local government areas just to justify those humongous figures that will always come during census and elections. Look at it in contrast to an actually overpopulated Lagos state . Anywhere u move to in Lagos u see people inhabiting in large numbers from normal middle class/high brow estates, local areas/outskirts, mainland , island and even under the bridges . We never ready to tell ourselves the truth as a nation jare |

A40: In 2003 Nigerian presidential election 36M people voted according to INEC, while census of 2006 puts us at 140M which is 25% vote In 2023 same country 25M voted out of 250M which is now 10% vote And almost every adult I knew voted this 2023 while in 2003 I barely know anyone who voted |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A40(m): 5:52pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Nigeria really is a cursed union when you think about it. They created those states and just allocated them population out of thin air. The Kano/Jigawa Sokoto/Zamfara is still so head scratching to me. What is the economic activity that supports or explains tens of millions of people in those two new states? What's their IGR? I'm trying to remember the election they did I think it was in Zamfara where there were more votes than registered voters ππ Which cities are the hubs of commercial activities that explain their high population? Some of us have touched that ends and we know these numbers are fictitious. Some local governments na under mango tree them dey siddon share allocation. No hubs. no economic activity nothing that can feed such supposed large population |

Check our respective families too, how many persons voted come election day, I can bet you'd see more of that kind of percentage.
