By 2030, the World Health Organization (WHO) predicts a significant deficit of approximately 10 million healthcare workers, predominantly affecting low- and lower-middle-income nations. Some countries suffer from chronic underinvestment in the education and training of healthcare professionals, leading to ongoing shortages. Additionally, there is often a disconnect between education and employment strategies concerning healthcare systems and the actual needs of the population. This mismatch further contributes to the scarcity of healthcare workers.

According to a study published in the British Medical Journal there was a shortage of 15 million health workers as at 2020. Compounding the issue is the difficulty in deploying healthcare professionals to rural, remote, and underserved regions. These areas face additional obstacles in attracting and retaining skilled healthcare workers. The situation may vary across different regions and countries, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare systems has further exacerbated the shortage.

In the last few years, the escalating international migration of healthcare workers from developing countries has worsened the shortage, especially in low- and lower-middle-income countries. Poor working conditions and low wages and insecurity have forced many health workers to seek out greener pastures in countries where the doctor and health worker welfare is prioritized. In this article, we bring the list of top countries where health workers migrate to and how much they are paid.

Working economy knows how to be excellent in everything.
Uk build premiership with players from everywhere.
They can easily get brain from the 3rd world country.
More than 70% of health workers in US are not even from US… but you can easily get citizenship
Make God no allow brain drain kill Africa.
My view is this:
Since everyone want to leave the country… Nigeria professional wants to practice abroad too.

(thanks to our parent and their colleagues who spoil the country…. I know you might assume your dad’s not involved since he’s no politician, guess what our dad told their arms and watch the country turn into jungle)

Also, Every country needed Doctors and nurses…

Here in Nigeria , we have over 30 million people between age 18-25, most who’re students.

I will advise Nigeria to start grooming medical practitioners for the world…
It will be a win win situation.
Nigerians living abroad remitted 19.8 billion dollars back home in 2022…

Can you imagine what the country would’ve been without this people popping money to the economy, while our politicians are busy sending money out.

If we send like 1000,000 doctors to Europe, America, Middle East and Australia …. I want to believe this will help the economy….

So government should invest heavily in training many doctors , pharmacists, nurses and lab technicians…
I might be wrong though, but I believe I’d we start by exporting brain , by 2050 we will have big professionals handling our economy and running businesses here back home.

That's why your politicians don't
risk their lives with Nigerian hospitals🏥
where doctors are paid slave wages that
cleaners in USA or Europe will not touch.

Good new for the newly graduated MDs and RNs.

Why wouldn't anyone who is a doctor in Nigeria migrate? There's no salary range, no benefits, shity health system. Our Politicians are traveling abroad for medical treatments.

The funny this that when most of our Politicians to to UK for medical treatment, our Nigeria doctors do attend to them. Now tell me why can't they see their primary care doctors here in Nigeria? This is because we lack the necessary equipments. Not that we don't have qualified doctors in Nigeria.

Infant, Nigerian trained Doctors do better than some of the Western doctors.

E don be for naija. If something is not done drastically all the health workers will be gone in a twinkle of an eye. The govt seems clueless on what to do concerning the health sector. Too much rot and neglect over the years. It will take a miracle to revive it. cry
