Holy Aruosa Cathedral (founded in 1517) is a church located at Akpakpava in Benin City, Edo, Nigeria. It was founded by Oba Esigie (son of Queen Idia) and Portuguese missionaries. It is commonly called the church of the Oba of Benin and the elderly Binis (people of Benin). It is one of the oldest churches in Nigeria, which can be traced back to the coming of Portuguese. Just as every Abrahamic religion has a sacred book, Holy Arousa Catheral's holy book is known as the Book of Holy Aruosa which was written by the "wise men with dictate, teachings, and sayings of the ancient Benin kingdom."

Bini believe in direct worship of the Supreme Being, Osanobua, the Bini world view permeates Aruosa's doctrine, rituals and usage.

In which way does it look more like a shrine than a church ? I think you are talking based on your inferiority complex. The only difference between Holy Aruosa and other churches is the language: Holy Aruosa officiates in Edo language.

So what is the difference between the one you term the European version of the religion and the Ethiopian adoptions of the religion? Which one reach God? Or are they both simply riddled with rituals that have nothing to do with God?

But they worship the creator(Osanobua) directly just like every religion did before the Romans invented jesus and Christianity as a mockery against the creator...just like Daniel prophesied in 9:25...

We had direct access to the creator of heaven and earth. We do not need an intermediary. His hands are not too short.....(metaphorically speaking).

Thanks for the correction.. I currently live in Benin and have passed Infront of the building severally. I see the church as a special one. Although, I always passed by it during working days, I have not seen anyone entering the place..

If that church were an artefact, it would be worth billions of dollars and it would be in the British museum. That is the oldest church in Nigeria and most likely the oldest in West Africa.
Look at how the church is built, do you imagine that all houses in Benin city used to look like that before the British burnt the city down after they won the war against Benin empire ?

You guys need to appreciate your culture, the whites have brainwashed you to not appreciate your culture but to appreciate white culture.

Imagine the emperors of Benin empire who used to go into that church, when Benin empire was a sovereign nation and its capital was Benin city ...

Preaching in the church is conveyed with the Beni language and is mostly on reminding the congregation to live a good life.

According to the Ohen Osa, they don't bring people to worship in their church.
In his words; "Those who seek God come here, we don't beg people to come. If you attend and discover that your contact with God is cordial, you will remain. If you begged God for promotion and you came her and got it, you will remain."
