JohnBullMySon: US is very scary. It is private for the most part, (but there are programms like Medicaid for example, and ex-servicemen get something similar to European hospitals in the army hospitals you mentioned)...but the billing system is very scary. |

Normal level in all the government medical facilities nah. The fact is that anything with Nigeria, federal government, or national government name attachment is disastrous. But the problem started with quota system and ended with federal character. |

Deeprooted:very expensive and stressful. Can't forget December last year when my wife went under knife. We made enquiry about private hospital, and is like 400k including treatment. We went to general hospital, but they told us 100k. I was happy, not knowing that I made a great mistake. After we registered, we first paid operation money, then bills start coming in. Go buy this, go buy that, do this, do that. To cut a long story short, we later spent close to 500k with stress. 1 Like |

Same thing is happening in the Education sector. Go to any Government secondary school in Nigeria and u will hail the teachers there. They are over worked with plenty and I mean "Plenty" students to teach. The work load is enormous. You might see a single subject teacher in a senior secondary school almost handling the entire senior secondary division with the enormous number of students. To mark exam scripts na war. If you do mistake come give assignment, na ur headache. U go ask yourself, who send me. Yet GOVERNMENT NEVER EMPLOYS NEW TEACHERS to help the ones there. They are just eating the money. Yet their teachers are the MOST QUALIFIED IN NIGERIA. All studied Education while holding the Government Teaching License. How many private school teachers studied Education let alone have a teaching license The government is not doing things well atall. I see the education sector in Nigeria collapsing very soon. That's why anytime a government school teacher in Nigeria retires, they jubilate. |

We have clueless leaders!! The world needs medical professionals why is no body thinking towards changing our secondary school curriculum so that any child that finish secondary school has basic medical skills, then cut down the number of years they spend in medical school to 4 years! That way we will have more than enough medical personnel to export to the west 3 Likes |

Rich4god: You are very correct. Most Nigerians are just ignorant. If you check the payroll of that hospital, you will see that more than 10 doctors are in that hospital receiving salary for nothing. |

ItisWell22: Sure, I know they are exposed to lot of life threatening hazards. Despite that, they should should justify what the government is paying them for by discharging their duties as at when due. That's what we all refer to dignity in labour. |

akaahs:Too bad. I don't just know why some of these hospitals will not employ. We have many healthcare workers who are willing to to take up jobs in Nigeria. All the government needs is to work on the management system of these hospitals by ensuring that astute and unbiased ADMINISTRATORS manage the hospitals. With good management, these hospitals will generate more than enough funds to pay any number of professionals they employ and still remit large sums to government coffers. |
