First of all with 150k in Lagos u are good to go.
I earn alittle above dat wt 3kids and still safe upto 30k mnthly
130k dey do me n family mnthly n we eat well n are doin well.
I am the only one workin so no think say wifey dey add shishi

I dont drink nor smoke
My kids sch are next street
My church na 2nd street
My trnsport/remote work is 30k/M
I pay sch fees 3times...21k X 3 = 63k so some mnths we dey manage 100k (60K foodstuff n 10k weekly)
Foodstuffs 70k, weekly i gv my wife 12k...we hardly trnsport to anywer except me.
I gv out 10k if needed mnthly based on situations frm my 30k savings.
My mama dey earn 80k on her own mnthly and na only she dey so unless i wan dash am.
My wife ppl no fit worry bc fr me to kip ur pikin dey feed am wey she no dey work..dey no dey disturb me.
We buy clothes or flex every 4Mnths budget is 30k (We dey mostly use am Mark birthdays) too but dat mnth we fit manage 100k feedin still.
By Year endin safe up lik 120k, profit sharin like 300k upward, salary join....So rent goes out frm here..ususaly pay 300k den pay remain 50k twice Jan n Dec dependin on how much i saved at the end of the year.

The salary is very small . The job your doing is there any extra by the side?. Let's do it like this everything is percentage . 1) rent per month 15% salary N22, 500 per month or N270,000 per year ( room and parlour). 2) Food 15% salary N22,500 ( target to eat N500 per plate or less) . 3)entertainment /hygiene 10% of salary or N15,000 monthly ( your girlfriend falls under entertainment so target working lady to reduce cost avoid students please). So far 55% of your salary has been spent you have 45% left. I will suggest you save 30% and use 15% for gifts, transportation and religious donation.

There are 3 things that consume ones earnings in Lagos. The first is transportation, next is accomodation, the last is consumption & entertainment. If possible live in close proximity to your job, if spend less than 10% of your earnings on transportation, you are way ahead of the curve. For accommodation you can cut cost by getting shared living space, that way utilities and other associated accomodation cost is shared. Lastly, you will have to cook your own meals, especially the meals you eat during work periods, things like clubbing, chilling at a bar or hanging out with friends have to be severely moderated.

Some people like you that are single earn N50-80K in Lagos State and still have little saving. Some security men are married and earn N45-50K in Lagos State and still survive though it's not easy, some single people earn N250K and above in Lagos State and have no sense. It all depend on your lifestyle.

There was a guy, who told me he earns only 70k in a month. I was in shock and had to ask him, how he survives. Transportation alone can take up 35,000/40,000 in a month, then lunch at work 20,000. Then miscellaneous expenses.

Guy #150k monthly salary in naija is not bad at all...how many people earn that?
If you be earning that amount,you can do a lot and still save...in 5months,if you can manage to save #100k,you will have #500k. Not that much but if you know what to do,you are good to go.

Depends on the location you live and how far you live from your place of work. The most unpredictable 'swallower' of salary is transportation. Every other thing can be routine and sorted. So my answer is definitely, Yes. Lagos has a place for you so long as you work hard and remember why you are here and not at home chilling. If you live somewhere in the mainland and have accomodation sorted out, you should be able to save 50k - 80k comfortably every month. But if you live on the island 🥲

You see this island no matter how frugal you are, you cannot save reasonable amount of money at the end of the month. When I was on the mainland some years back. I was earning 30k with side hustle brining my income to like 70k- 80k per month and I was able to afford decent mini flat and looking fresh.

No be lie my brother. But one thing I discovered about island is if you are used to the lifestyle, you will never want to live on the mainland again. Even if you want to relocate, your plan will never be to go back to mainland rather travel out of the country or Abuja.
