Loyalists of President Bola Tinubu are rooting for a former governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as replacement for embattled national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Adamu, who fell out with the president owing to the role he played in the APC presidential primaries last year has already tendered his resignation letter ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Al-Makura who lost his bid to return to the Senate in the 2023 general elections was one of the leading contenders in the election for APC chairman last year before former president, Muhammadu Buhari drafted Adamu into the race at the last minute.

The former president also informed the APC governors to work for Adamu’s emergence in the elections.

Last month, Al-Makura, citing “pleas from revered traditional rulers and other leaders”, withdrew his case from the ongoing election petition tribunal, challenging the victory of Mohammed Ogboshi Onawo.

Niger state contributed significantly to the victory of the party in the north central far more than Nasarawa. The next National chairman should come from Niger state.

Yes!

All Nigerians must keep asking their President to keep to the promises set by his close advisers to release the already overdue Ministers list as ae have entered the 8th week, while a serious government would have done so within 1month a la Dele Alake's and Bayo Onanuga's assertion.

However, APC internal matter is a matter for its members and supporters.

The sense you missed is that there is always reward for loyalty and support, as such, Niger State is more deserving to represent North Central within APC's power structure.

What you don't understand is that national politics is not about booty hunting or sharing the spoils. Its about getting the best fit for the job.
That's what breeds corruption and nepotism as well as making election do or die.
APC is too divisive
