Shattuck:Maybe, maybe not. That's what the law always have been. CaptainFM1:INEC has no power to disqualify a Candidate, the SC has said that many times. So even if you submit a forged document, INEC's only responsibility is to publish for the public to scrutinise. 1 Like |

GeneralDae: When a lawyer files a process, the respondents are expected to respond in writing...this is a new process and the respondents are yet to respond...only to find you on nairaland responding for them ..hahahhahahahahahhaba.. Tinubu lawyers or historians are yet to respond to this particular one...they only responded to that of obi on double nomination and the court has given a ruling...get your fact right |

All the elements are against Tinubu. PDP/LP is pursuing him with double nomination while APM is pursuing him with invalid nomination. Tinubu nominated Shettima 21 days after Masari withdrew instead of the legally mandated 14 days. |

This one Jagaban is threatening judiciary and our constitution. Please is he bigger than Nigeria ?? If he doesn't meet the constitutional requirements they will be no anarchy. Let him get out of that place. We want a Nigeria built on Truth, trust and fair play. We have suffered enough. |

Inconsequential argument. What sections 31 to Section 33 of the Electoral Act envisages is the withdrawal of the flag bearer (candidate) of the party in an election and not the vice/deputy. That it’s why it is mandated that a fresh election should hold for a party to elect a new candidate. Shetimma was not elected by party members at a primary but nominated so he doesn’t fall within persons covered the sections. Masari or Okupe who were place holders at the time can be replaced after fulfilling outlined procedures. Matter would be thrown out. |

They might have informed INEC in writing but kept it low. Court always give parties leeway and this was dismissed before election. If tribunal finds the election valid...only a dumb would think Supreme Court will remove the President on technicality....equal powers before the law. Only INEC results can remove Tinubu not 25% abuja, bvas upload or Shettima nomination...the World has moved on. Tinubu is ECOWAS Chairman.,.talk about a great maneuver by the JAGaBAN himself BluntCrazeMan: |

Segzy19:The truth is that the analysis is valid, and you know it does. Tinubu is getting ready for a rerun but you, his minions, are here on nairaland making noise. And if there's a re-run, tinubu will lose because 1) all eyes will be INEC, they wont be able to do mago mago again 2) Tinubu scammed the North by making them think he was too frail to govern. That's his strategy and why he was making those speech blunders and the north foolishly fell for it believing Tinubu will soon handover or die and a northerner will take over. Now, they've seen they were scammed and it's the reason you're slowly seeing backlash from them. Too much forces are against Tinubu. He'll be the first Nigerian president to be removed from seat |

YouAreNobody:Yeah probably because in 2012, he felt oil prices were high and he didn't trust Jonathan in terms of corruption but in 2015 when oil prices slumped to like 30 naira from 100 naira in 2012, that was a good time to begin to remove the fuel subsidy and he advised Buhari to do that then. |

Re: Human Right Activist, Silas Joseph Onu, Analysed The Petition Of APM Against APC by Novarisammy2: 10:32pm On Jul 17, 2023 |
this is for the naive, shallow minded supporters The APM had in its petition marked: CA/ PEPC/04/2023, contended that the withdrawal of Mr. Masari who was initially nominated as the Vice- Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, invalidated Tinubu’s candidacy in view of Section 131(c) and 142 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended. The party argued that there was a gap of about three weeks between the period that Masari, who was listed as the 5th Respondent in the petition, expressed intention to withdraw, the actual withdrawal of his purported nomination, and the time Tinubu purportedly replaced him with Senator Kashim Shettima. It further argued that Tinubu’s candidature had elapsed as at the time he nominated Shettima as Masari’s replacement. According to the petitioner, as at the time Tinubu announced Shettima as the Vice Presidential candidate, “he was no longer in a position, constitutionally, to nominate a running mate since he had ceased to be a presidential candidate of the 2nd Respondent having regards to the provisions of section 142 of the 1999 Constitution”. More so, APM, contended that Masari’s initial nomination activated the joint ticket principle enshrined in the Constitution, stressing that his subsequent withdrawal invalidated the said joint ticket. culled from people's gazette 9th June |
