The program is not over yet. These are the ones I've completed, waiting for new ones to be released.

When I see folks that walk the talk, I salute them. Don't give up man. Finish the course, you may get a 100% scholarship after completing 60ECTS.

Few people that I shared this with offline, didn't even follow up, They are so lazy, and cant fight or pay the price for what they want. They are waiting for one miracle to just lift them from Nigeria to Europe, without any work.

I stand to lose nothing in doing it, it'll even add to my CV. And I won't forgive myself when people get it without me trying to get it.

Thank you very much Pansophist for the vital information. I'm enjoying the course. Hopefully they will give us the scholarship opportunity. Even if they don't give the scholarship, I have gained valuable knowledge from the course.

I suppose collect award for this nairaland.

I was the one that opened the study in Finland thread far back in 2012 with close to a million views. I closed the account. My old moniker was dahonestboss.

I have met alot of guys that entered Finland via that thread. Many are Finns already, doing well for themselves. Back then, tuition was free.

I believe it can still work for you too. Take it serious. Hopefully, you will make it. Heaven help those who help themselves.

Honestly you deserve more than an award. I remember that moniker, I was also on that thread then. I wanted to apply to Abo Academy (don't know if I spelt it correctly), but personal issues were too much for me then and I couldn't even proceed with the application.

Yea, you spelled it correctly. It's a Swedish university in Vaasa. It's prestigious and one of the best in the country and in the world. Lots of Nigerians are there.

Sorry mate. Believe me, getting in was very easy then, unlike now, and it will be harder in the future as naira falls further.

Good morning which is better Finland or Canada since they both have easier access to permanent residence after studies and the same weather and climate.

Personally, I will choose Finland. I can't really see how Canada beats Finland unless you don't want to learn Finnish/Swedish.

I have been to Canada a few years ago, It's too artificial, lonely, freaking expensive, and the social life there is messed up.

Too huge, that it's almost impossible without a car. Not bikeable and walkable cities compared to Finland and an overly Americanized culture. Most immigrants there are from the third world.

Hardly you will see Europeans move to North America like US or Canada. The quality of life there is inferior to Europe. There are more Canadians/Americans moving to Europe.

Education is free in Finland but in Canada, you may go into debt just to study in Canada. You will never meet an EU citizen depressed over crushing student debts, but it's common in North America.

And with a Canadian passport, you don't have the automatic right to live in other countries as a right. Visit yes, not live. A Canadian will have to go through the hard immigration process as a Nigerian just to live in maybe France.

But as a Finn, you are an EU citizen. You can just pack your bags and go live in Dublin, Berlin, Croatia, or even French Guiana in South America since it's also part of the EU. Or in Ceuta and Melilla, which are Spanish territories in Africa, bordering Morroco and part of the EU.

EU is less than half of the land size of Canada but has about 450 million people, while Canada is about 35M. If you are a business man, that's a huge population to sell stuff to.

Culture in the EU is organic. Since the population evolved organically, not like Canada where every group sticks to themselves, since they are moved there with the fake promise of multiculturalism. Europe is organically diverse.

And Europe is well connected. You really do not need a car. You can drive or bike or use public transportation to every corner. EU is like one big country, and the countries are states. In my city, there are trains/bus that leaves for different countries every hour at least.

Lemme stop here. Europe is better.

If you will study, then four million is not enough unfortunately. 4M naira is about 6k euros, it won't pay for your school fees even. You need at least 8-10k euros for that.

I mean, its a huge money, but naira have fallen so badly that when converted to euros, it becomes so small. If you can increase it, then try. It worth working hard for.

Or you go for bachelor degree programs. They are usually cheaper. Lapland university of applied sciences have the cheapest degree program. At about 4k a year, even better if they give you a scholarship.

I can't recommend any course for you. But go to studyinfo. fi, and search for courses that you like, also use the filter botton to search better. But I'll give you a possibility of relocating without spending much.

Lab university of applied sciences just started a four year engineering bachelor program called sustainable solutions engineering. So you study the first 60 credits (out of 240 credits) online, if you perform well, then from the second year, you can study in Finland for free.

The university will assist you to come to Finland, and tuition fee will be free. The country needs people in that field, so they exempt that program from tuition payment.

You won't find the link to the program on their website (I don't know why), but drop your email and I'll send it to you, so you can apply. I got it through their newsletter, since I applied there long time ago when I was like you, trying to japa.

Goodluck mate. May God bless your hustle.

Not necessarily true. Some people are just anti-social
I've been #1 in the leaderboard for a very long time

What's the relationship between being anti-social and taking one's studies seriously?

Anti-social: hardly posts online, until "absolutely" necessary. emphasis on absolute.
I saw the opportunity, i followed up aggressively, emphasis on "follow up" as stated by you. but you thought "we didn't",
i am fairly conversational in Finnish already. I guess that answers the rest part of your question.
using myself as a case study

"No," we are on Nairaland, I wouldn't know what your experiences are outside these walls.
I just wanted you to rest easy knowing some people are making good use of this opportunity and you shouldn't be discouraged. Kippis.

Well, I am not sure there is anything new to post. I guess "everybody" who signed up is still in the learning stage; for at least another 6 months. Plus this month's course is quite delayed. I don't think I received any notification yet.
What else would you like to know?

Hello Brothers,

I currently live in EU and already a permanent resident. I'm married to EU citizen. We are looking to move to Scandinavian esp Finland or Sweden. We have a Son. Moving is not an issue as we don't need visa to immigrate.

I'm working currently in IT with experience in Networking both security and operations.

Is it possible to find a job in Finland or Sweden. As we speak only English. Or can we find other jobs to survive in this new environment. I really wish someone can help me with information on survival I the aforementioned country as a new immigrant.
