angryWe all know that the average Nigerian is corrupt and would look for an avenue to steal if possible. Let the foreigners be the ones to generate jobs and not the government

Why can’t Nigeria be independent for once?

Can’t you empower your citizens to do these things and have all the money by yourself?
There are people that are capable of doing these things with adequate empowerment and support from the government, but No, they love China more than their citizens

Sigh

With $100 million anyone of the local producers can import technical know how thats not not a problem

Capital injection isn't enough to drive a new industry and if only the people that has the technical knowhow are outsourced, it might take a longer time to achieve the localization of such sector. Also you don't consider what expatriates will be paid and you know it's not just 10 expatriates that will be needed for the job. $100m isn't enough to drive it also.

I'm more interested in Toyota building a plant in Nigeria a service center and an authentic spare part dealership at affordable prices.

All governors, members of parliament and even the president collectively use several billions of naira worth of armoured and non armoured TOYOTA & LEXUS SUVs .

Yet we still do not have a Toyota assembly plant in Nigeria. Else support local brands innoson and peugeot

For heavens sake why would you do that FDI is never good for a developing economy

There are many battery producers in Nigeria

There are at least 10 in nnewi... Why not empower them give them loan to scale up

Then provide platforms for them to become contract manufacturers to electric car companies

Also empower innoson to go into electric car production

And investors brings in 100 million dollars... Over 20 years takes out $15 billion dollars... Has he helped the economy or killed it more?

You give a Nigerians $100 million dollars loan... He invest makes $15 billion, 95% of that wealth would remain in Nigeria... That's how you grow and economy
I don't want to believe your stories. I see alot of sympathy, the government are looking for foreign investors not to support start ups. Startup can get loans and look for investors. Nigeria has not gotten to the stage of spending on experiment.

There's no lithium batteries produced in Nigeria and lead acid batteries production line is totally and entirely different from lithium batteries.

Although you can set up a lithium battery factory any where but the bulk of the profit in the industry lie in the refining of the lithium to be used in battery factory. So if we have a battery factory and still import refined lithium from abroad, what's the essence of that.

You don’t expect an Fulani man to love an igbo man. So China is more of a brother to Fulani man or Yoruba man than igbo man and vice versa. The problem of the country is unity and love yet I don't understand why the force to stay together.

mrvitalis is right..

A lithium refinery and lithium battery factory can be built and operated by foreigners with Nigerians and the indigenes who are University graduates work with them as assistants or trainees for 6 months - 3 years then after the 3rd year then Nigerians or the indigenes can take over or Nigerians take over while the operations continue to be done with fewer expatriates and Nigerians working side by side..

The U.A.E does this, most companies the in the U.A.E are owned by Em:iratis but foreigners with experience and expertise are hired to do the daily operations of the company alongside other Emiratis.

At least when National Geographic channel was showing the series on Du:bai's airport that's what I noticed.

It's not rocket science but there are things that are much more difficult to achieve than we know. Do you know that it was only recently that China was able to produce the machine that makes the ball at the tip of a Biro. And before them it was only Taiwan and one European country that I've forgotten that has the technology.
