Why should the FG step in here? Is it that the governors are not competent to do what they got voted in to do?
The FG has stepped in enough by giving more money to the states to help their people.
Do you want the FG to go over the SG and give to the people? Who will be in charge of maintenance of the vehicle? Will that be state govt? or will it be FG?
State gov Makinde will say I didn't send you message to buy buses when you want to dump maintenance on me. This is how the buses will get auctioned to Young shall Grow or Agofure in 9months abi FG will create another ministry for maintenance of FG vehicles when we already have overbloated spending

Why I said he should have sat with them before condemning the same Governor’s people to penury.

So the letter he wrote to the HOR that was read on the floor of the house is not sufficient proof of his plans abi? grin

Maybe Speaker Tajudeen Abbas was lying on BATs head, or The Nation, BATs newspaper wanted to make their principal look bad.

Some of us are not dishonest folk.

The Nigerian people already passed a referendum on Subsidy removal by voting overwhelmingly for the top 3 candidates. Because they all promised to remove susbsidy if they are elected.

The only Presidential candidate that took a different stance was NNPP kwankwanso. If you had wanted to continue enjoying subsidy, Kwankwanso is the guy you should have voted for .

ỌMỌ: What you mold

Child is ọmọ in Yoruba.

Grandchildren is Ọmọ ọmọ.

My granddaughters (my ọmọ ọmọ) came visiting last week and they returned yesterday.

Hanging out with them for the week was the most replenishing experience I've had since they last visited two years ago.

I became a child again.

Their visit reminds me of the meaning of child, ọmọ.

Ọmọ is from the verb mọ, meaning to mold, shape, construct, design, build, form and pattern.

The idea is that Olodumare (or nature) provides us with formless clay and it is our duty to mold them to the shape that we desire.
What you mold is what you get with ọmọ.

The Yoruba have a proverb that Ọmọ tí a kò bá kọ́ ni yíò kó ilé tí a kọ́ tà: a child left without instruction will sell our life constructions.
But there are two types of bad children.

The first is the àbíìkọ́: a child without any training.
The second is àkọ́ọ̀gbà: a child who rejects all instructions.

The interesting thing about Omo (what you mold) is that they also mold and nurture the parent.

In the picture, I am playing with my granddaughters, shaping them, instructing them.

At the same time, they are shaping me, instructing me about the nature of being human, teaching me to know myself even better.

They reveal in me things I did not know about myself.
Our orí will assist us to mold good children out of the formless clay that Olodumare gives us.

The 8,000/Month for 6 month was the $800M Facility that was gotten from the world bank by the previous FG to cushion the effect of subsidy removal. It’s different from the 500 billion Tinubu requested as part of the supplementary budget.

The poverty register that list the vulnerable Nigerians was done by the past administration with support from the world bank.

That register was used to disburse an earlier loan where people received 5,000 naira, what most people are saying now is that that poverty register is a scam as most of the beneficiaries did not receive the 5,000 earlier disbursement.

And so Tinubu should not proceed with the disbursement of the 8,000 Naira as the money will most likely be looted.

And that assertion was supported, when the world bank itself released a report that claim that only 19% of people in the register receive the earlier disbursement.

I’m part of the people that don’t believe in that nonsense of sharing 8,000 naira every month to poor household, we all know it’s an avenue to loot by the politicians.

How anyone will be in support of continuing both the PMS subsidy and Exchange rate Subsidy is beyond me.

We should continue subsidising the middle class foreign travel and Educational expenses??

Nigerian student paid more in foreign tuition fee than the amount budgeted for education in the federal budget.

Na, As a nation you need to choose your priorities.

I don't even understand your point sef.

I supported the removal, but with obviously nothing done to cushion the effect, rather we are seeing 110 billion naira pallative for less than 500 people is senseless.

If the dollar gets 1000 naira next week, NNPCL must increase the price of fuel. So, what is really the benefit of a common man in all these?

You are actually explaining in the wrong place. Maybe you should go to the market or a public bus and tell them to choose their priorities

So humour me.
If you are against the 8000 and you have gone to great length to show it was a requirement from the World Bank, why not return their money to them and reduce the debt.

Also again it's obvious that part of the money tinubu is touting to use is money that he asked CBN to print in excess. Which will invariably lead to further increase in inflation. (if you need proof of this.. Please check the current supply of naira and the difference between may and June)

Also if the payment of 50% of subsidy is suddenly a strange concept to you because it is impossible to say to nnpc that instead of paying full subsidy, pay 50% and then you study and assemble your economic team to tackle the issues on ground.
Also don't forget that he has settled the NJC and NASS with 110billion naira.

What would you suggest they do for the common man like us to survive this period?

With NASS using 70 billion in a time like this, I would choose subsidy payment over any nonsense future Nigeria hopes to have.

With the way Nigeria is today, it is more profitable to import than produce.

500 naira ended with Buhari. It is almost impossible to go back to that place
