The House of Representatives on Wednesday rejected a motion to stop the increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and revert to the old price of N537 per litre. Rather, the House resolved to investigate the sudden increase in the price of premium motor spirit and the resultant increase in transport fares across the country.

The House said since it has already resolved to investigate the increase, it will amount to pre-empting the work of the investigative committee by ordering the suspension of the price increase.

In a motion of urgent public importance by Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, the House asked the group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari and oil marketers to appear before an ad hoc committee to explain the increase.

The ad hoc committee is also find ways ensuring effective distribution of palliatives to Nigerians to cushion the effect of subsidy removal.

I really don't know what the opposition is waiting for to start a protest on the state of the economy.
Are the scared or they are actually in agreement with the ruling party concerning the direction the economy is facing

Initial Gra Gra. He was asking for subsidy to be brought back by default and thought others ain't wise wink They just pigeonholed his overwise.

Subsidy is gone for good. Petrol is not price inelastic, very soon, even the marketers will be begging for buyers. All this showmanship is not a substitute for the national interest.

In a truly free market the price of fuel shouldn't be more than the 490 they were selling before, there should even be a gradual fall with time.
I think this increase in price is just the marketers who were enjoying the subsidy fighting back against its removal.

It is not an increase, it is market forces at play as advocated by Oby Ezekwesili.

Na now una want begin do something. Until we go begin burn burn government houses.

Did Tinubu leading the opposition in 2012, burn government houses?

Better start your anarchy protest in Anambra State that is home to the opposition Peter Obi, just as Tinubu did is own protest in his own Lagos State.

Hehehe.

Toothless bulldogs grin cheesy.

Their actions will yield no fruit.
A committee will be set up,then a sub committee and a mini committee follows,at the end nothing will come out of it.
