IRCC requested for my husbands medicals. However mine was upfront. I did my medicals in April. My chest xray was not clear so had to undergo sputum test and a repeat xray which was passed last week. So my medicals was updated passed July 14th. What worries me also is the fact that our eligibility was initially completed on the tracker. It changed to In progress and has remained same since June 26. Hence my worry about the exchange rate and also my husbands mortgage banks license that we used for POF was revoked after we submitted our application. So all these has tripled my anxiety. |

Please guys, where can i get the Canadian Immigration Health Screening done in lagos? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Bamz555: 2:36pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Honeeydrop:Just be positive. Exchange rate can not affect ur application if it has passed medical stage. Plus pray they don’t decide to double check ur pof. |

LOE/SOP determines so much in this whole process. how you explain & arrange documents can make or break your application. but in all grace plays s vital role. because a terrible VO can mess up lomy: 1 Like |

Hello everyone, I noticed the same mistake in my application and I have requested for a withdrawal, will I need to wait for IRCC to confirm the withdrawal before reapplying? ZorroJuro: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by lomy(f): 3:11pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
kr7s123: Why withdraw? You should have sent a webform for it same way I did. I guess you have your reasons. |

lyndaoyewole:Do VOs even read SOPs? I read somewhere that they don't really do. They have AI do it for them. |

Good afternoon Gurus! I will appreciate if someone can respond to my questions. I am currently living and working in the Netherlands for a 1.6 years. I had lived in ukraine before moving to the Netherlands because of the war in Ukraine. I got a temporary protection residency permit in the Netherlands because of the war in ukraine, therefore my resident permit in the Netherlands is coming to an end soon. Because I have been working, I was able to save enough funds to pay for my post graduate degree of about 19kCAD and bought a GIC of 11kCAD to study in canada. Few people i know in the Netherlands who also lived in Ukraine tried applying for a canada study visa from Netherlands but they got denied because of their "Temporary protection residency permit for people from Ukraine" which the VO considered not to be a proper residency. Two of these people went back home to Nigeria and reapplied and it was approved. In my case, I am 28 years old. I have paid my full tuition fee(19kCAD) to my school in canada, and I bought a GIC of 11kCAD for POF, I have my payslip, I have a reference letter from my current job here in the Netherlands and I also have my last work contract from ukraine. The problem is my home tie to Nigeria, I am not sure I have a strong home tie to Nigeria as I will be returning home in few weeks from now to do my medicals and then apply for my visa. Below is what I have for home tie; 1) A Gift deed from my Dad, which is a house and its about 1.5 plot. The Land survey was done in 1998, but without a property value. In the gift deed we valued it at 25 million naira. It was sworn and signed in the high Court with the necessary stamp 2) My 2.5 plot of land which is my birth right. No land survey was done, just Irrevocable Power Of Attorney which was valued at 8 million naira and it was also sworn and signed in the High Court with stamp 3) Affidavit of Facts from my Father, which was sworn and stamped in the High court Gurus in the house, please is this property documents sufficient to prove home tie to Nigeria or what else can you suggest ? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by zubizareta(m): 4:14pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Workahollic: Properties aren't just home ties checked. Home and economic ties are basically the things the VO thinks will bring you back to Nigeria after your study. Personally, I don't think properties alone does it as you can stay in Canada and still own your properties. Home ties like familiy, responsibilities back home that you would need to return to, economic ties like business or job back home in Nigeria etc. |

Hello everyone, please someone I know was sent a medical request by IRCC for the next 30 days. However, she just went for her test and IOM suspects tuberculosis although not determined. How does she deal with this? Should she inform IRCC herself? She has been advised to start her test by next week. Please your suggestions and insights will be very appreciated. |

So i am sorry your friend has to go through this. I know how it can affect ones morale haven gone through this myself. Every chest xray done by IOM is interpreted by IRCC in London. The panel physicians at IOM do not have the final. say. The result is usually transmitted to IRCC then interpreted by them. So all your friend can do now is to carry out the test. Its going to be 3 months of wait.I am afraid there is nothing IRCC can do because thats their procedure. If not she can be refused on the basis of medical inadmissibility Baphil: 1 Like |

lyndaoyewole:I think reverse would be the case. AI wouldn't read with emotions or sentiments. It scans through for specific keywords and calculates how thorough, how well the sop explained points and assigns the sop a score. Or the sop can summarize the sop, highlighting the main points which the VO would work with. AI, I think would be more strict, as it is would follow procedures to a T. Humans can easily be influenced in their decision making depending on their mood, time of the day, how well they slept at night, how emotionally charged or beautifully written the SOP is. AI can't. But like I said, I read that somewhere. I'm not sure of the source. But if it is true, it will help to get a professional writer to write your SOP. |

Funformofi:Sorry for the refusal When did you apply? Cos if you applied before the change of ircc rate then your reapplication will need you working on your pof. What are you currently doing? Any relationship with the program you applied for? Lastly, what were your economic and home ties. The VO had concerns with your purpose of travel so it could be these things I listed above. Mail me the SOP you submitted let me see. 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Bobomaigida: 5:19pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Funformofi: Sorry for the refusal, was the application done by an agent? From the letter it seems you did not explain the programme well enough, and it also seems some information you provided contradicted each other on your SOP. You need to rewrite your SOP, but before you do request for your GCMs notes. 1 Like |
