What's wrong with IPMAN, as a body, must they wait for the president to r duce pump price, or is this fake news...the market is no more regulated. Does the president still have powers to call for abitrary fuel price reduction?

They enjoyed the subsidy payment so much. Some of them collect subsidy on empty vessel.

Are will missing something or this new is not correct.

By deregulation the Petrol, Government can no longer intervene in the price of Petrol, let the market force decided.

Meanwhile, if the demand continue to drop, something good will happen to the price of Petrol that we will all happy about.

Political jagaban economic jaga-jaga! The nation is slowly grinding to a halt, as businesses who rely on fuel to run can no longer afford to remain open. Resulting in a galloping inflation, increase in the unemployment rate and a massive reduction in the purchasing power of citizens. Whats the point of importing the fuel if no one can afford it? What’s the point of infrastructure if only a few people will afford to use them?? Obi had a step by step plan on removing subsidy, dis wan is just shooting in the dark with no plan. Oh, Onyourmandate Wisha Stan, Dr. Onaneva C. Enitin says, hi! grin

Venezuela is what happens when subsidy costs eat up your revenue, the borrowed money, and the non-existent money.

Venezuela subsidizes fuel very well. Fuel costs N14 there Aand.....the country is broke , even worse than Nigeria. Their refineries are all bad, and smuggling of fuel is so bad they lose 18 billion dollars every year.

We are not a paradise, Buhari and APC and Tinubu have messed us up, but we would have been worse than Venezuela if we kept subsides on.

The market have been deregulated. Tinubu do not have the power to decide the price of fuel for filling stations owner.

Petrol Stations should work on converting to cooking gas and CNG stations. There is no much profit in petrol stations especially if it is private ownership. They practically now in same status as random retail businesses you see around.

That man is all about making big profit and not about the people.

They don't want to hustle hard like other traders to make money.

Now, everyone is equal, traders from every sections of trades will have to hustle hard.

Either a big or small trader.

They all need to hustle hard now.

Era of soft money and profit are gone.

No going back on subsidy removal. We must all face it head on. If the business is no more lucrative for you, then find another business.

The need for CNG/LPG dispense station had been established, channel your funds to it and leave petroleum business if you are finding it difficult to break even.

Subsidy removal: Tinubu backs Buhari, Falana condemns price hike

13th May 2016

A former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has described the decision of the President Buhari-led Federal Government to remove petrol subsidy as courageous.

The government, through the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on Wednesday, announced the removal of the subsidy on petrol, pegging the upper limit at N145 per litre from N86.50k.

In a statement in Lagos on Thursday, Tinubu said though the decision was a difficult one, it would ultimately become beneficial to the generality of the people instead of enriching the pockets of a few Nigerians, who enjoyed the fraud of the subsidy regime.

Osinbajo: We’ve saved N1.4trn by not paying fuel subsidy

AUGUST 25, 2016

Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo says the federal government has saved N1.4 trillion for not paying oil subsidy.

Speaking in Kano on Thursday during the third day of the 15th Joint Planning Board and National Council on development meeting, Osinbajo urged Nigerians not to lose faith in Buhari’s administration, saying the president would fix the economy.

“*With the deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector*, there has been a significant increase in the availability of petrol throughout the country for the savings of N1.4 trillion on subsidy payments alone,” Osinbajo said.

IPMAN AND FUEL STATIONS MUST REDUCE THEIR PROFIT MARGINS IF NOT THEY WILL LOSE BUSINESS.

Abroad, the margin on fuel sold is between 1- 5 cents. Fuel Stations are not lucrative businesses. Infact most fuel stations make their margins by having automated car washes, automated tire pumps and car vacuums, small stalls that sell lotto tickets and mini groceries. That's why fuel stations abroad are self serviced - to reduce staff/overhead costs. The opposite is the case in Nigeria but now wey fowl yanshb don open, the smart ones will reduce their margins so that they can get more customers. That is when market forces will start to play. For now, fuel stations still dey play. They are still eating with the old spoon size. Their eye go soon clear.

Subsidy is gone.

They need to adapt their business expectations to that reality.

Car owners are in severe shock right now.

Reduce staff, close some pumps, and hopefully demand increases in the coming months.

Nigerians will lose their jobs, and businesses will be affected. You think it's as easy as that?
