Rostikol: Western countries rejecting stolen money won’t make the thieves stop stealing money or return money rejected by the West. The thieves will just keep stealing and spend the stolen money elsewhere or live lavishly in their own country. That’s not a cure for corruption. |

1stGenAmerican: Because it doesn't take 50 or 60 years to build a 220 million - strong country that's been robbed, brutalized and bastardized for 600+ years, you blasted mo.ron. At independence in 1960 Nigeria was a complete bush, with ZERO by way of industry or higher education, never mind infrastructure. There wasn't a single power plant, no national grid. Illiteracy at 92%. All this after a century of British rule, brigandage, and export of Nigerian resources. Today, despite Britain's tragic misrule, the indigenous leaders of Nigeria have managed to build a modern country with reasonable infrastructure and growth for its age. AND THEY ARE STILL DEVELOPING, WITH THOUSANDS OF PROJECTS ACROSS THE NATION. The British, after invading and burning down their great and famous cities like Benin, and mass murdering them, amalgamated the incongruous land THEY named 'Nigeria', and forced them into nationhood while robbing them blind, with ZERO investment in the country, then spat them out at 'independence' - and 50-60 years later, a BUFFOON like you is sniffing at Nigeria and asking why it ain't like Japan? Are you stupid?!!!! You realize why colonization was successful right? The Euros were invited and welcomed into Africa by Africans who sold them other Africans—they realized that if people will sell you their people, they’ll do anything. This made the Euros see that Africans didn’t care about Africa or other Africans so if they tried to colonize Africa, they’d probably be successful—and they were correct. Peabrain and historical illiterate, nobody 'welcomed' European devils and demons into Africa. Their entry destroyed Africa. One man alone, named 'king' Leopold of Belgium, slaughtered 20 million Congolese just to steal their resources.. The economies of West Africa were integrated with trade among their people in the various regions until colonialism changed all that and forced African economies to face Europe alone for trade. The slave trade started by European ships berthing on West African village coasts on the Atlantic and DEMANDING x number of captives on threat of bombardment. The villagers were forced to raid neighbouring villages and towns, and that was how the cycle began. But because you've never read a history book in your useless life, you have your head filled with rubbish that paints Africans as somehow less than the BLASTED EUROPEANS THEY CIVILIZED. 1 Like |

Rostikol: If someone challenges something you say, take what they’re saying personal, grow angry, aggressive, and start hurling insults. Typical Nigerian. You’re trying to insult me by calling me stupid in different ways while blaming the colonizers for stealing Nigeria’s wealth when the oil boom happened AFTER the colonizers left. Nigeria earned $600 billion dollars in oil revenue AFTER THE BRITISH LEFT BUT YOU'RE STILL BLAMING THE BRITISH FOR NIGERIA’S CURRENT MONEY WOES! IF THE BRITISH WERENT IN NIGERIA TO STEAL THE WEALTH THEN WHO STOLE IT? You can try to insult me all you’d like because anyone reading can see which one of us those insults/names really suits—and it isn’t me. 3 Likes |

d142475: I respectfully disagree . The problem of Nigeria is both a combination of Nigerian people and its Politicians . When we breed more children ,the parents cannot handle . Its a recipe for disaster . The resources will be nothing , look at U.A.E, Norway , Qatar etc . They have tiny population and their wealth is covered . If we see resources per capita , even with all undiscovered lithium , Coal etc . Nigeria is no where to be found in top 20 countries. Controlling population along with good leaders will take the country forward. 2 Likes |

ChristineC: Iam not Tinubu slave , u can check out my postings from past 14 years on same Nairaland . Tinubu has political capital to do things ,which sadly Obi could not do . These reforms are absolutely necessary to save the nation . If ,Obi being from IGBO tribe done this , there would be chaos on streets on northern Nigeria . Sadly we live in a tribalistic world and accuse others of Racism . |

Their policy of divide and rule is what has put Nigeria in the present economic mess we find ourselves presently. Lets hope that they will be firm this time around for good governance and positive change. God bless. |

This democratic system imposed on us won't take us to the promise land. It proved very ineffective in addressing our challenges and it is indeed very costly. Above all it is alien to our culture and history. |

actually they wont want to change the default status, The Tinubu, is willing to please them and do what they say, and he always go to France, which is NWO too. If they change it, its too risky that a good person like Obi can come in. They need the one who will please them and do what they need. NWO needs population control, death of many people, and banning religion. Collapse of currency, submission to resource control, like water control and food control. Remember you will own nothing and of course be very happy. The acceleration of these goal's is underway this September, with a push for a 7 year commitment and perhaps confirmation with the nations for 7 years. It seems its based on good intentions like equal opportunity for all. But sometimes terrible results begins with good intentions. ScamDemicEra: |

1stGenAmerican: You are WRONG. Stolen money NEEDS A HIDING PLACE. We are not talking of small change you can spend in a lifetime of eating caviar on luxury yachts and private jets. We are talking of billions of dollars. Such amounts need STORAGE. There are not many hiding places for stolen funds outside western Europe, the USA and Cayman island. You cannot bank your stolen billions in China or Brazil or Mexico. They will question you. Or seize the money till you explain where you got such money. Same as most other countries. It is ONLY THE WESTERN EUROPEAN BANKS that allow people - MOSTLY THEIR STOOGES BASED IN FOREIGN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES - to bank stolen funds in their accounts. IF THAT STOPS, CORRUPTION IS CUT BY A MINIMUM 95% WORLDWIDE. BEFORE YOU THINK OF STEALING 2 BILLION DOLLARS, YOU WILL ASK YOURSELF, ''WHERE WILL I KEEP THIS 2 BILLION STOLEN DOLLARS''? So long as there are places ON THIS EARTH where you can go and SAFELY HIDE THAT MONEY, corruption will NEVER END. KNOW THIS AND HAVE SENSE. And the worst part is when people from THOSE VERY WESTERN COUNTRIES, start writing ARTICLES condemning corruption in Africa and elsewhere, and we have folks here siding with them! Meanwhile, ALL the western ''article writers'' need to write is that their CORRUPT western countries should stop banking stolen funds from abroad! Accessories in theft condemning theft. And you accept it. Oyinbo do juju for una? |

SaLongs1: Abeg go and sit down. It is YOUR FAULTS that you need other nations to do the right thing by stopping their banks receiving stolen funds from your country. Your RELIGION bequeathed you by your ancestors, you abandoned to ''follow Christ'', and ''follow Muhammed''. Imported deities who preach ''forgiveness of sins'' once you ''accept them'' as ''your lord and saviour''. Fairtytale garbage that turned you into mindless, selfish cretins with zero morals and zero sense of public interest. In African religion, there is no forgiveness of 'sin'. If you swear an oath not to steal public funds, and you do, you're finished, either by the gods, or by the traditional executioners, whoever gets to you first. In imported trash religion, you can steal 10 billion dollars, and the very same day, attend church, give money to the pastor and give thanks to ''the lord''. If you feel a little guilty, you would drop a single token line begging for ''forgiveness'' from ''the lord'' then give the pastor some more money, and leave. Done. So WHAT SHOULD STOP PEOPLE FROM BEING CORRUPT? What? The moral restraints are gone. You are all 'christians' and 'muslims' now, worshiping the gods of your killers, enslavers and colonisers. So what else were you expecting? The same leeway they got from their FAKE GODS to loot and rape your land, and steal your resources, is the same leeway you get from their FAKE GODS whom you've adopted, to be corrupt. So why are you surprised that there is corruption? You've drank from the same cup as the invader. UNTIL YOU MENTALLY COLONISED SLAVES FINALLY ABANDON YOUR WHITE WORSHIP AND WHITE ADORATION AND REBUILD YOUR AFRICAN CONSCIOUSNESS, RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY, FORGET ABOUT ENDING CORRUPTION. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. LEARN FROM CHINA, JAPAN, INDIA. DO YOU SEE THEM WORSHIPING COLONIAL WESTERN GODS AND FALLING OVER EACH OTHER TO SPEAK EUROPEAN TONGUES? NEVER. They know the value of indigenous philosophy and spirituality. Abuse them for worshiping cows, dragons, snakes etc. They don't care. If you don't like it go. THAT IS WHY THEY CAN SEVERELY LIMIT CORRUPTION. But Europeans will come to your land and say ''this is backward'', ''this is heathen'', and you will just accept it, and snap up theirs. Even bleach your face to look like them. LOST PEOPLE. 1 Like |

Indeed the Northerners give birth to a lot of children. However, I can bet one million dollars in support of my theory that the Nigerian population of 200M is inflated. We are at most between 130 to 150 Million. I suspect you're familiar with the politics of population census in Nigeria. About resources. The most critical resources a nation has is human resources. If we had a government, it would have been investing massively in education and human capital development. That will be our most valuable resources. Nigerians are industrious and hardworking. We are among the few African countries that was not socialized to look up to the government for handouts. If the government created an enabling environment (stable electricity, road infrastructure, security, and the enthronement of rule of law), Nigeria will be the envy of the world. Nigerians will take off. Just imagine the wonders private citizens are already achieving in this hostile environment and imagine how much more we as a people will achieve if the environment were people-friendly. And it is not difficult to fix these things. For instance, Tinubu has 'borrowed' 500 Billion and they are about to share it among themselves. Just imagine how much it will accomplish if Tinubu dedicated that money to one key infrastructural development area (maybe build a major road or even dedicate it to fixing the power problem once and for all). You see? our problem is poor leadership, not poverty of resources. If all the state governors and government officials in the country decide to reduce their embezzlement by half and dedicate the remaining resources (after they have chopped just little o) to work for us, we will be as developed as the real developing nations of Eastern Europe. What we have in Nigeria is: Government officials will chop like 95 percent of the resources allocated to the common good and then 'dedicate' the remaining 5 percent to public service and then demand that we sing their praises and be grateful for giving us 5 percent. On natural resources, Nigeria is abundantly blessed. We have everything in this country in commercial quantities:Fertile Agricultural land, Natural gas, crude oil, coal, Gold, Bitumen, Iron Ore, there are many undiscovered minerals in the middle belt region of the country. We have everything. Unfortunately, we are not united as a people; we still deeply divided along religious and ethnic lines. Sorry for my ranting. EKONGKING: |

Rostikol: Thank you!!!! You are very correct. Kanji dam was built by our indigenous people immediately after independence and was completed in 1968 to generate hydroelectric power. The west were/are lazy and their population was increasing, they couldn't till the soil to achieve food security and instead to look for cheap labour, they Were looking for free labour (slave) and hence invading Africa. Slave trade was abolished as a result of advancement in agricultural technology, inventions of machines that can do the work of 300 slaves within few minutes. Slavery didn't stopped out of love or pity. |

I wish I share your optimism, although I wish he does and I pray for him to get it right but so far he has shown so much as one who just needed to govern but doesn't have it all planned. Imagine 2 months after removing subsidy palliative measures are still been discussed is that not puting the cart before the horse? Although he behaves like I have got this and no body else is president except me and in that wise better than the buhari who is hardly informed of current happenings, the unaware president.
