Tuition is still free. What medical do you get for N2,000 ? You will still pay more if you are providing for any of the services yourself. |

Please who is advising these people on these kinds of decisions they are taking, I mean is this the best time for the Federal Government to be increasing the price of anything? I mean I think we are supposed to be talking about palliatives now instead it is one increment or the other. Some people said that that President Tinubu is tax master and it is definitely seeming so. The timing is so bad and ill advised there is no joy in the country right now. This government should please take it easy abeg 1 Like |

These increments are inappropriate at this time. The economy should stabilize first before increasing fees everywhere. 100k for secondary school per term is much. Plus some of those fees are bogus. FG should please look into it and make corrections. What the hell is caution fee? 3 Likes |

taylor88:Incoherent Almijiri, When was Bola Tinubu sworn in as your president? Sorry for you unfortunate Wailer. “This was contained in a directive from the Office of the Director of Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education, reference number ADF/120/DSSE/I, dated 25th May, 2023, and addressed to all Principals of Federal Unity Colleges“ |

cococandy: At the end, I don't have easy answers, sigh. All I know is, back in the day, I went to a private school, which was expensive, cost money, but we got a lot of things that a public school, which was near where we lived, and which was charging very cheap fees...did not get. Maybe we should do as South Africa does, and give students a grant , but only limit it to students below a certain set point in earnings...not perfect though... All in all, keeping fees low has not done our government schools any good either. I come in peace, and I am also angry with the government. But at the end, some hard choices have to be made, and made now. And yes, we have to fight corruption. |

nairalanda1: Why are all the FGCs in a serious mess? Is it because they pay N45,000 as fees? Will they no longer be in serious mess from now on as the fees have been increased? How do you know that "the education budget is not enough to meet all needs"? Did you implement the budget and you came to this conclusion? Is there any budget anywhere in the world that is always enough to "meet all the needs"? 3 Likes |
