BlueRayDick: The school fees should remain the same till the student loan Scheme start running and students has access to it. It's just common sense. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 6:23pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
raumdeuter: Even in JSS1 2nd term, he won't pay that money. Items like School Uniform, Boarding fees would not reflect in a session. He won't even buy uniforms again. Unless he wants to sew by himself. There's nothing out of the ordinary with that bill. |

larride: Simple ! When the student loan scheme is out and people still avoid it and insist on free tertiary education , then we can say such students are not serious and not ready to go to university . Not now when nothing is in place |

Amigoss: Jonathan met excess crude account at $20bn and in just 5yrs squandered it to $2.1bn even though he presided during the period of our highest surplus income from crude oil sales. Jonathan should go and sit down one place. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

izzou: Lol. Why miss an opportunity to sensationalize a story. of the 100k na Boarding fees and uniform be that main thing inside remove those 2 then you have 45K for a FGC Ilorin, Queens College or Ijanikin Maybe FG should be putting people in hostels and sewing uniforms for them too |

DeadPresidents: 100%. The quality of pupils the primary schools are churning out to the secondary schools is poor and the quality of students the secondary schools are sending to university is even worse. It is like trying to build a skyscraper on sand. The university education subsidies should be removed but only after alternative sources of funding like loans, scholarships, grants are made available. The focus should be on having a broad base of quality primary and secondary schools and empowering the universities to provide quality fee-based education 2 Likes 1 Share |

larride: So the increase from 45 to 100k isn't enough to get pissed about? Is this a joke? Even 70k is an additional 25k increase especially in these times and you think it's not worth getting pissed about? Abi na na another economy you dey function inside? 4 Likes |

raumdeuter: Maybe I am wrong, but i don't know any school that will teach a child, give him uniforms, house him, feed him for 3 months, and collect 100k. Reading the memo objectively shows it is okay. As a new student, you need to buy uniforms and textbooks. JSS 1 1st term bills are always the highest in Junior Secondary. The bill is very okay |

liveLongNprospa: The food they will eat in the market is not planted by FG. They will buy it from the market you are buying from The Textbooks; Longman and Macmillan are not subsidiaries of FG. They will buy it from them. So in clear cut terms, why are you expecting it to remain at 45k? 2 Likes |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 6:38pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
afrodoc2: Yes. Infact I believe the FG should increase its number of FGC schools. Properly fund and run the unity schools and take hands off completely from tertiary education. Anybody that wants to go to the University should do so through loans, grants and scholarship like you said. The FG can also introduce sport scholarships into Unity schools like the USA does. They can model it the way sport scholarships work. This means University will have sports teams like football and basketball. This will mean investing in our local football leagues and basketball leagues also. 2 Likes |

izzou:Oga when a school gives you a bill, you are probably only exempted from paying the boarding fee as that is optional. The others are not and will be paid. How is a 55k increase not an issue? How you dey view this thing sef? Yunno what this subsidy when them remove dey okay sef because I don't see the issue in it. I can comfortably afford the fuel so you should get your money up coz it is justifiable what government is doing 😌 1 Like |

liveLongNprospa: Nigerians ehn is for the sensationalisation of the news. The new bill is for new students and considering the current economic realities, I dont know what you expect the govt to do except maybe you want the govt to start subsidizing their fees again after being tuition free. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 6:40pm On Jul 21, 2023 |

When they were supposed to tell us hold your governors by the throat and warn them for wanting to touch our reserves and savings, they were busy insulting, abusing and running propagandas against GEJ.. Money for reserve is now less than Tinubu's drug money forfeiture in the 90's,they are now telling us to hold our state governor's responsible...Oshiomole and Amaechi will not die well sha.. Like we should all march to our state secretariat and hold delta and Edo governor for shirt on how he is spending monthly FAAC money tinubu is sending to him 5 Likes

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 6:43pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
DeadPresidents: My own story; I attended a very good primary school and could even make simple conversations in French at the end of my primary school. I had already learnt most of the rules of concord (agreement) in English language by the end of primary school. I attended a normal government secondary school where I dusted everyone till my last promotion exams in SSS2. I attended a tutorial in SSS 2 while preparing for GCE and discovered people wey sabi book booku like say dem be rice The tutorial opened my eyes to the fact that my secondary school teachers were playing receiving Lagos state money while teaching us like typical civil servants would do; do the barest minimum and get paid by the government anyways . I learnt the whole WAEC syllabus in 6 months at the tutorial centre and passed my my GCE in SSS 2 . I didn’t even bother going to school for most parts of my SSS 3. I just dey focus on JAMB while my friends still dey fear WASSCE. The rest as they say is history . A good primary and secondary foundation cannot be overemphasized. I learnt Lagos state government has stepped up big time as far as primary and secondary school Education is concerned now thanks to the Fashola/Sarah Sosan administration . 3 Likes |

izzou: the main thing which is tuition which pays for teacher salary and infrstructure is already covered by govt If you decide the boarding fees too much, you can let your kid go from home as a day student you you automatically save 30K and feed your child yourself Those textbook, materials for uniform ab shey na Tinubu be tailor again |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 6:44pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
liveLongNprospa: I am viewing it objectively and also as a guardian of a ward. They did not increase it for everybody. Just a fresher. What is the problem with that? Freshers pay almost double of what other students pay. Is this news to you? I never see the news for this thing wey una dey talk. The tertiary increase is the real wickedness. But for this one, it is very very okay. There is still option of Agege Junior Secondary school, if you want everything to be free 2 Likes |

larride:Must it be touched? Can't it remain the same? What is the purpose of increasing for new students? Abi nor be human being go source for that money inside this economy? If tinubu had announced that he wants to make Unity schools cheaper, you go still use am as point for him.. |

liveLongNprospa: Are you expecting the price to remain the same? The school is tuition free. The uniform and textbooks will also increase in the market with the current market realities, should the govt be paying the difference? |
