Druss: Thanks the essence of the rants here is the ones we call the middle class. At least those than earn from 700k to 2.5m monthly and cannot even enjoy their hard earn income. Its will take a man earning 700k minimum of 2 years to get a 16year old tokunbo corolla. I will never be in support of any politicians be it from my tribe or not. I will always favor the economy over them. Hunger is real. 2 Likes |

IconicR:Return the subsidy and fight the corruption in the system. Why is it so hard to fight the subsidy Cabal? All the oil producing countries have a working refinary and they still have subsidy in place. What is our own different. 1 Like |

IconicR:You guys still don't get it. It was the way and manner he went about it that has caused Nigerians unbearable hardship and not the removal in itself No reasonable president announces on inauguration day that "subsidy is gone" What was written in that speech was "we will phase out subsidy" He made the second mistake by hastily unified exchange rate in a country that is solely dependent on importation. Now a dollar may soon hit N1000 and oil marketers are having a filled day. Trust me bro, Tinubu has destroyed his tenure even before it started. Policies are easy to make, laws are easy to pass, but the implementation is always the problem because if the human factor. If he adequately met with the stake holders and players in those sectors before removing subsidy as he did or unifying exchange rate, Nigerians won't be in this mess. Even Tinubu in 2012 opposed removal of subsidy in one go. And mind you, subsidy payment is not the problem BUT THE CORRUPT PRACTISES OF THE TAKE HOLDERS. So why is it ok to punish Nigerians because the Govt can't curb corruption? 3 Likes |

IconicR: He said he will reduce the subsidy to 50% first and find means for the masses to survive. But drug lord just remove it 100% with no means for the masses to survive. Farmers can’t even go to farm again because of the price of fuel. |
Re: Nigerians Didn't Bargain For Current Hardship - Gani Adams Fires Tinubu by IbeOkehie: 1:30pm On Jul 23, 2023 |
IconicR: Same thing I've written about this. President Tinubu has no choice because Nigeria is bankrupt. For this reason I support his removal of fuel subsidies. He also needs to float the naira. Peter Obi and AA Atiku would have had no option but to do the same. Nigeria is bankrupt because Mr Tinubu and Mr Buhari and their APC and its allies sabotaged previous attempts to stabilize and reorient the Nigerian economy, especially with the Occupy Nigeria protests in Jan 2012. Then Nigerians affirmed the foolishness by voting for APC in the 2015 elections. This kind of suffering should never have happened. There was a clear pathway to economic stability and prosperity paved by President Obasanjo and President Jonathan. There's CLEAR EVIDENCE that the policies were working well. A majority of Nigerians for whatever reasons rejected their reforms and suborned the destruction of the economy by choosing socialism over free markets. Toks2008: There's NO WAY to remove corruption from Nigerian government. It's IMPOSSIBLE. The best that can be done is to eliminate programs that provide opportunities for corruption. Good Luck to Nigerians. |
