I'm thinking that was released to cause problem and then a rebuttal to claim that document is fake to further dent the EndSars situation.

Because ain't no way in hell LASG can be this stupid to leave this kind of paper trail

For Chelsea thread we were made to believe no one died even if there were deaths the highest should be 3 and it wasn’t a massacre
The mad one is the culprit here he was so sure there was no death, even when I told them I know some one related that lost his life that night

....Comprehension is becoming a big problem these days. What is not clear in the letter for God's sake! 'Victims of EndSars" it says.

Many people died, policemen even lost their lives to the protest. The letter is generalizing all victims across the state for God's sake!

We shouldn't be looking at every development from political point of view to score cheap points.

I've long since known that the Arabs actually practiced slavery even more than the Europeans. But to see this video of it live in the 1950's leaves bad images in the mind.

Arabs not only traded in slaves and we're the last to abandon the mass practice of it but they also castrated the slaves and treated them far worse than even the white men. Kai!

Dear friends,
I'm writing this with a heavy heart, and I hope you can find it in your hearts to lend a helping hand. Lately, I've been struggling with overwhelming feelings of depression, to the point where it feels like my world is falling apart.
I know it's not easy to open up like this, but I'm reaching out in the hope that someone might understand or offer a kind word. Right now, I'm desperately in need of support and love. The weight of my emotions feels unbearable, and I fear I may reach my breaking point.
If anyone has been through something similar or knows how to cope with these feelings, I would be incredibly grateful to hear your thoughts. A word of encouragement or a simple gesture of kindness could make all the difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your compassion could be the miracle that helps me through this dark time.
With hope

I don't take these people seriously. You never hear their voices when people get slaughtered in the name of their religion. How many priests have been killed.

Me naturally I no too care for any religion per se. I believe God dey sha but if he wanted us to follow just 1 religion there wouldn't be so many anyway plus 95% are practicing what we were born in.

If these people were born in China they would be Buddhists who believe everyone not following Dalai Lama is going to hell or whatever their doctrine is. Which is why I'm always amused seeing people carry religion for head in such stupid way.

When it comes to intolerance they're still #1 ahead of any other religion in the world. It's not an opinion it's a fact so I don't fall for any gaslighting tactics

I really wish not to go into this issue again. I'm someone who See's myself as a sort of defender of the weak, the underdog and the oppressed. It's a sort of redemption arc for me because in my most you younger years when I was incapable of introspective thoughts or consequence or impact of actions, I was infact the bully, I made jokes at people's expense, I intimidated folks to get what I wanted and abused the little power and influence I had.

However upon maturity and enlightenment, when I look back, I not only detest what I did or who I was, but I detest more, the onlookers and the enablers. People who saw some of the wrongs I did but couldn't stand up to me on many occasions and those who basically "unlooked" and let the situation be bad. And that is why today, I take it upon me to speak out where I think injustice is being done or evil is being perpetuated.

Why am I saying all these? On this endsars issue, typically, I would be the one who is quick to condemn authority especially one which is being abused. But in this particular case, there are nuances which cannot be swatted aside,
First of all, you would ask, how did I view endsars? I looked at them from a realistic point of view and less from an idealistic point of view, I'll expand on that. You see, nigeria is a lawless jungle, more akin to a failed state. Justice is for the poor and the rich get away with a lot. A country where a third of the police force are personal bodyguards of the top 5% and the rest have to deal with the rest of the population. When SARS were first instituted, they spoke the language of the criminals. They brought down both criminals, kidnappers and violent cultists alike and they restored sanity to a lot of places they had initially operated, their results were visible to see, they achieved this because they had a freer hand than most security organizations.

Now they turned their attention to yahoo boys. Another issue which I personally disliked. Nigeria was fast becoming a society where criminality was actively accepted and celebrated. Before the Yahoo era, nobody would come publicly and boast about being a thief and stealing money from people. I had extended relatives who themselves had become victims to these criminals and many years ago I really did hate anything yahoo passionately. Because I couldn't reconcile the moral justification and societal degradation that was ongoing due to the mass acceptance of this criminal act because at the end of the day, for every successful yahoo act, someone's life has just been ruined somewhere and we now seemed not to mind.
Anyways, long story short, I did not want SARS to be disbanded, what I wanted and clamoured for was "REFORMATION". One where there was a high level of checks and balances, erring officers brought to book, justice being carried out on murderous officers. In essence, I likened them to the nigerian police. Our police force is one of the worst in the world, but no matter how bad they are, you wouldn't want a state without law enforcement because then, the situation becomes far worse. If you thought you had problems before, wait till they're gone.
And perhaps this pro-law enforcement bias played a role in my position on that lekki toll gate. There were 2 types of news on social media, one side were saying that people were killed, the other was saying that people weren't. The mass hysteria was present and I was asking for irrefutable proof of a massacre because seeing what had already happened and was ongoing in various parts of the country, if that narrative did take off especially on a faulty premise, they're would be widespread violence and worse still on false premises. Hmm. I've tried hard to elucidate my mindset. It wasn't that I was being insensitive, that is not my nature, for me it was essentially a difficult balancing act, separating facts from hysteria. Trying to end the riots because the cause wasn't one I totally agreed with because, deep down I didn't want SARS to "end". I projected unto them the image of a organization capable of putting an end to the menace of fraudulent boys and activities and going after criminals and cultists hard. Was I misguided? Maybe?
I still cannot truly answer that question because today, all those vices are still present and growing even bigger.

So increase in price of fuel is bad, but increase in fees of Unity Schools from 45k to 100k at this very difficult time is good. Difficult situation the current Government put the people into, yet they couldn't wait for the hardship to ease off small before adding increase in fees. People i know who have kids in Unilag are already wailing since yesterday, my Friend who is a diehard Tinubu fan was wailing bitterly inside him car while we were going home yesterday 😁. Make we dey defend rubbish dey go.....

75% of Unilag students have phones that are more than the school fees in value. Many have laptops that are more in value

But paying the equivalent of $150 to $200 per year for your education on what you decided is that career pathway you want to follow and get a living for life is what is too much abi?
