95% of Unilag students have phones that are more than 100k in value. Many have laptops that are more in value

But paying the equivalent of $150 to $200 per year for your education on what you decided is that career pathway you want to follow and get a living for life is what is too much abi?

You are 100% wrong on those figures though.

Honestly cos those guys won't stop. They want the Yoruba culture totally replaced with Islamic culture and they've been testing the waters again in recent times.

But why the yoruba culture? Is it because they are tagged the most accepting tribe?

Is that mistaken for weakness?

If you rely on tiktok videos and social media in general, it will seem like that. When you visit the schools, the situation on ground is actually different. .

I used to think every student now wears wig of 100k and above based on what I saw on social media. The last time I visited UST, I paid close attention to the hair on the ladies and realised I've been so out of touch with reality.

So Govt decided to remove subsidy on Education because 95% of Student have expensive devices? Increasing school fees at this difficult times is madness from both Govt and the School Management, but then human naturally react to what affect us. Some here are angry that fuel price is increasing because it affect them, while also supporting the Fees increase for Unity Schools and Some Universities because they don't have kids in those institution yet so they are not affected. You will always support Govt policies just to mock your perceived political rival, no matter how draconian it is to the masses. The Buhari you defended at every turn messed up the country, but you are yet to even admit he failed. If Tinubu start shooting Nigerians in the head today, you will find your usual way to defend the evil action 😁.

So what you are actually saying is that paying $150 for 12months is too much for an education towards your career. And you expect a quality one from paying $50 a session

The 100k is not even subsidy removal yet. Without subsidy we will be paying what comparable to what they pay in other African countries like Ghana Benin and Togo

Wanna bet that close to 70% (especially female students) didn't buy those items with their own money.

I agree that our Unis need better funding but the conundrum is who will foot the bill?

I should also mention that there's now easybuy and many of such platforms that allow you buy a phone and pay the money instalmentally.

Difficult to use the phones on people's hands to make any form of argument.

....Comprehension is becoming a big problem these days. What is not clear in the letter for God's sake! 'Victims of EndSars" it says.

Many people died, policemen even lost their lives to the protest. The letter is generalizing all victims across the state for God's sake!

We shouldn't be looking at every development from political point of view to score cheap points.

Okay if not phone since we say majority of students don't use phone at least they eat bread

How much is a loaf of bread or a plate of food in say Oyo

2. How many loaves of bread or plates of food is okay to pay for education towards being an Engineer or accountant
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 4:26pm On Jul 23, 2023
I agree but how many people can pay at least 500k per year for kids college education? That's where we are. That's why I'm not too critical of Tinubu's idea for student loans. It's not a perfect solution but it's a start.

The thing is..the ones that can't afford those expensive things definitely can't be on tiktok alwaus.. It will take them a lot of data which will shorten their feeding money.

But those ones who are regularly posting on tiktok are especially the women who has suger daddies or yahoo or business men boyfriends.. so it's no surprise to see the latest gadgets on their hands.

Na that specific ideology practiced by Dan Fodio still dey a bit close to the real Islam as practiced by Muhammad, its founder. Islam is all about total domination of everything.

Why do you think all practicing Muslims in the world put Qur'an above any other book? It's forbidden for a Muslim to put any other book above the Qur'an.

Why do you think that's so? Anyway, those Africans with a working brain don abandon Islam and embrace their local gods or reject all gods or God altogether.

Na dense people for Africa dey take a religion established by a pedophile and murderer seriously.
