I bought a redmi 12c on the 7th of this month. Today I did some videos and couldn't find them anywhere in the phone, WhatsApp voice note recorded by me doesn't play all the time. I have to switch off or reboot the phone. Yesterday I saved a contact it didn't save till I switched off the phone. Is anybody experiencing same. I thought the way Xiaomi phones are been hyped that minor problems like those shouldn't exist.
is the phone a good phone thinking of buying it

Please I'm in a dilemma.

I got a new SD card recently and I out it in my RN10P and was using it smoothly, but everytime I reboot my phone, It always tells me to format the SD card.

It has happened over 3 times now. I looked online on Reddit here https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/rwln17/redmi_note_10_external_sd_card_problems/ but there's no apt solution to it.

Please help me with a fix.
PS: SD card is in good condition, confirmed via Windows PC analytics

This is something I have covered on my blog and our telegram channel.

https://inquisitiveuniverse.com/2022/09/03/why-you-should-format-your-microsd-card-before-use/

I'm going to go out on a limb and presume that you didn't format the card on the phone before using it. Formatting on a PC before sticking it in your phone doesn't count.

Possible solution.

Back up the data on the card and insert on your phone. Use the phone to format the card, and then use like that.

Precautions

- Avoid using the PC to format the card.
- Avoid removing the microSD from your phone without unmounting the card or turning the phone off completely.

Hi bro.
Thanks for replying quick.

I actually formatted the card on my Phone before use.

I want you to understand the problem please: It keeps requesting this formatting every single time I reboot my phone.

If I don't reboot, no issues.
But once I reboot, the issue resurfaces.

I also did not format the card via PC at all. Before rebooting, I connected my phone to the PC to transfer files to the phone (not SD card) and was then able to see the memory capacity of the card in "This PC" view.

I'm looking for a permanent fix as not rebooting my phone again is not feasible.

The card is a microSDXC

You may have a problem with the card being read at the startup period. Have you tried with another card? Same ish?

I'll advise you to remove it and connect to a PC, "scan and fix" error through the SD card "Properties" Menu Window. After that's been done, format it on your phone and continue using.

If that doesn't fix, then, you may be looking at a good/original replacement for a better safekeep of your files.

I had this issue one time and i looked for the fix everywhere because i was so sure the SD card was "original" cuz it passed some test, but later found out that the SD card was the culprit and it was of low quality, that is termed "original fake". Try another sd card and see. There's a short term fix that worked for me then, i slotted the Sd card on a PC, cut/backup the entire thin then formatted with the PC, then put back in the phone, it reoccurred again shall after awhile then i kept repeating the process till i got tired and got an original SanDisk.

If you can, avoid anything memory card. Use otg storage if you need extra space

Not forgetting the fact that the sd card might be fake. Those black sd cards can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

Thank God for the SanDisk I got from @Jboixxx since 2018. Still working perfectly. Someone that saw me remove the sd card from my device days ago asked me to sell it to him for twice the amount I got it then.

Having exhausted all possible possible reasons, I'm inclined to side with Jboixxx and Olayinkajnr that the card might be the issue.

Just do as Jboixxx has explained otherwise, microSD otilor.

Thanks for your response. Have you used the device, what's your experience if yes.

It is not always about the Megapixel count. And I must not have used all phones to give a good recommendation.

I still maintain that the Poco F5 is a better device overall.

Thank you.
