ECOWAS' Strength Weakened By Nigeria's President Legitimacy Issues - SABC by ricson11(m): 12:43pm On Jul 28, 2023 |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2D3-9ZSn-Vk According to South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) . ECOWAS's effectiveness has decreased, and one of the contributing factors is the legitimacy issues surrounding the Nigerian president, who is currently serving as the Chairman of ECOWAS. This may have implications for the organization's ability to address regional issues and fulfill its objectives effectively. 7 Likes |

"Hours after the ECOWAS chairperson, President Bola Tinubu, warned that the West African bloc will not tolerate illegal removal of the democratically elected government of Niger Republic, the country’s recent coup plotters have warned against any foreign intervention.Same problems the balabloo-blu-bulava if facing back home, yet he was equivocal is going to condemn what happens elsewhere. You are facing a legitimacy issue back home yet condemning the one somewhere else. Coup Plotters are not jokers. You do anyhow, you see anyhow. The shame, disgrace, national and international embarrassment have long started. INEC leagued with the operators of the structure of corruption and criminality to force a well known drug addict and baron upon a nation and thinks Nigeria will command respect before the regional ECOWAS, AU and international community? 9 Likes 2 Shares |

But the negative interpretation is that he(Buhari ) doesn’t care about the integrity, character and honesty of who succeeds him.-1). That negative interpretation is my concern here, and it’s premised on Buhari’s support for the election of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president. It concerns me because I’m fully convinced that a Tinubu presidency would not only destabilise Nigeria internally, it would damage Nigeria globally, making it a big laughing stock, a butt of dark international jokes! -2). Truth is, next year’s presidential election will have huge long-term implications, its outcome will affect Nigeria for decades. Therefore, no patriotic Nigerian should sit on the fence; that patriotism is what underpins this intervention. To be sure, the presidential election should be as much about character as manifesto. -3). The presidency is too serious an office to be invested in someone with serious integrity deficit. Those ignoring character and integrity should remember the Turkish proverb: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus.” -4). But here are questions for President Buhari: Is he aware of the damaging allegations swirling around Tinubu? Given what he knows, does he think Tinubu is a fit and proper person to be Nigeria’s president? Is he happy that Tinubu’s life, pedigree and backstory are veiled in secrecy or, as someone puts it, a “miasma of dubiety”?In the US, every major presidential candidate is an open book. But not Tinubu. He arrogantly refuses to answer uncomfortable questions about his past. Instead, he uses surrogates: Festus Keyamo, Femi Fani-Kayode, Bayo Onanuga. Who see him as their route to advancement and are blatantly lying to Nigerians, treating them as morons. Recently, they came full throttle with deliberate untruths about the drug allegations against Tinubu.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2022/11/tinubu-as-president-buhari-must-really-hate-nigeria/amp/ Sarrki, Omenka, Seunmsg, Helinues, NgeneUkwenu 1 Like |

This should be the last time a newly elected president or state governor is inaugurated before tribunal cases. It will save both the nation and the winner a lot of distractions and national embarrassments. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

keymatt: Because the president can be easily manipulated if he has a criminal or bad history. If US has other Intel on Tinibu they can make him do their bidding if they wish. He won't even have the balls to confront the white nations on their treatment of black Africa. And INEC chairman that collected money from the whites to conduct elections, didn't deliver. He thinks he can scam oyinbo of millions and just go scot fee. 1 Like |

Effectiveness can be tested and it's a factor that is verifiable hence most opinions here don't count. Let's see how the ECOWAS Leadership responds to restoring the democratically elected president of the Niger Republic. If the coup subsists after President Tinubu has declared it ended during his inaugural speech as President of ECOWAS Heads of State, then SABC is correct but if the former democratically elected leader resumes as President, then SABC is flatly wrong. Let's wait and see. It's too early to speculate. |

MadamExcellency:"Hours after the ECOWAS chairperson, President Bola Tinubu, warned that the West African bloc will not tolerate illegal removal of the democratically elected government of Niger Republic, the country’s recent coup plotters have warned against any foreign intervention. A group of soldiers who appeared on the West African nation’s national television late on Wednesday, hours after the President of Niger Mohamed Bazoum was held in the presidential palace says his government has been ousted from power. Reading from a statement, Colonel Amadou Abdramane, seated and flanked by nine other officers, said defence and security forces had decided: “Put an end to the regime that you know due to the deteriorating security situation and bad governance.” Abdramane said Niger’s borders are closed, a nationwide curfew declared, and all institutions of the republic are suspended. The soldiers warned against any foreign intervention......." Okoroawusa:Stop asking stupid questions. I supported MKO Abiola back then irrespective of my ethnic inclination because I believe he meant well for Nigeria. Traitors killed the vision and the rest become history. Tinubu was hobnobbing with late General Sanni Abacha to be made the civilian administrator of Lagos while Abiola was in jail. When he saw he won't be considered, he started OPC even saying "I don't believe in one Nigeria." while the likes of R.Adr Ndibuisi Kanu, AVM Dan Suleiman, Pa Abraham Adesanya etc were fighting with NADECO. Today he is benefitting from the one Nigeria corruption. Whatever or whosoever meant well for Nigeria should be supported but Bola Tinubu is definitely not one of it. Fast forward to today, Peter Obi meant well but bigots will tell us that he can't be president but rather prefer a man with many dirty moral and corruption baggages as president of a regional giant like Nigeria. Why? Parochial and ethno-religious supremacist sentiments. Now South Africa is insulting Nigeria because of our warped mentality and flair for mediocrity and the urge to continue to recycle the old political Brigade that have brought this nation to its present sorry state. 3 Likes |
