The only thing that will happen is increase in salary by 25% and things will cost over 50% again. Why can't NLC add how government can divert the subsidy to curtail the cost of transportation and make our electricity stable, and make government let our refinery function, even if it one. They can strike because of this not everytime about salary increments, which only favour them. The more increments of salary, the double rise cost of living

don't blame NLC, FG knows that Building refinery will cushion the effect of this fuel subsidy, but they will prefer to spend the money saved on Subsidy removal to something dey can steal from...

The same NLC leaders would want to run to the same court whose orders they intend to disobey to enforce their fundamental human right when they are charged for contempt of the court..

Moreover, the NLC leadership as constituted can not be entirely trusted because they visibly partisan.. the candidate they supported did not win the last election against the person at the helms of affairs now & so it won't be out of place if some of us think they are being sponsored by that same candidate of theirs..

Don’t let anyone use you, dont mind them before they use you to score cheap points. They are not fighting for you. Oshiomole did the same thing for years.

Use your brain don’t follow these guys they will reap you and inflict more pain on you. Instead of following Nigerian Labour to protest and strike gather yourself and ask for constitutional change!

Rubbish as if 99% of workers in Nigeria are under NLC, what happens to the artisans, the traders that depends on their daily sales, the driver and bus conductors, the djs and club owners…??
Omo, as for me o mk dem go strike for their house with their family. Rubbish. !
Where do they expect us to get the money to stock food and drugs at home??
Foolish people they just want to sabotage and create more hardship for Nigerians, God will punish all of them.
You lack knowledge and information. Go and read the NLC demand. The fight is not just for the workers but the masses.
Most of their demand borders on cushioning the effect of the subsidy on the masses.

Stop all these useless sentiment. The strike is long overdue. FG is not showing any commitment to the negotiation.

NLC to me is even weak. The Government ought to have put things in place before removing subsidy.

What are their plans of the cushioning?? To revert the subsidy or what? And is the proposed strike the best way to demand whatever they wants to? You need to reason with your 6th man.

Negotiation is the best but lack of commitment from the people on the side of government is pushing NLC to the wall.

This is what NLC is asking for

Speaking on ways by which the President can mitigate the effect of subsidy removal, the NLC official asked for “Minimum wage review of 300 per cent to all workers; granting licences to individuals for modular refineries to refine petrol locally; granting economic stimulus loan to SMEs at 15 per cent rate.’’

He added, ‘’The government should provide social benefits for aged and unemployed youths; agric loans to farmers and youths through the Agric Bank and community banks at single digit rate; provide alternative energy supply such as massive investment in solar power and Compressed Natural Gas to motorists.

“Fix the refineries; reverse the privatization of electricity back to the state due to poor performance; Execute metro rail line projects in all state capitals and reduction of school fees for students of tertiary institutions.”

And u think all these demands will be met with strike actions
Why not dialogue and come to terms.
My point is strike will solve no issue here but worsen the situation of the masses… any action should be dialogue based. Tinubu that I see is not someone that will turn deaf ears or will act like pmb by ignoring and be defiant.

Is it not the same Tinubu that removed fuel subsidy without consulting anyone?
What has he done so far to soothe the pain of the masses other than rhetoric
Make una dey apply sense in your defence of politicians in power abeg

Some of us jus talk for the sake of argument, who will nlc dialogue with when they go for fixed meeting and the govt representatives are absent?
Salary increment won't increase inflation any more than it is already if govt , puts other palliatives labour is demanding into place.
Someone said the nlc is partisian but surely the hunger and suffering isnt partisan so let that shape Ur response to issues on this topic.
Fg gave a deadline of August 19 for conclusion and onward implementation of these palliatives but so far not a single meeting has been Held while some committees are yet to be inaugurated.
Banks have already increased salary of workers why are some against public servants increase.
Increasing the purchasing power of public servants wlll lead to increase in sales of goods and services this it's a multiper that will affect others positively
Fg and states have already share increased revenue as a result of subsidy removal , however what are those funds going to b used for ?
Let's let our conscience guide us and not tribalism or religion

Let's see if the NLC will be bold to go against the court order. Court judgement will not only be obeyed when it favors your candidate.
