In a daring act of bravery, the police in Imo State successfully foiled a robbery attempt at the Goldwise Wisdom Gold stores in the Ikenegbu area of Owerri, the state capital. The armed robbers, clad in military uniforms and heavily armed, arrived in a white pick-up van to carry out their nefarious plan. As the criminals ransacked the gold shop, a sharp-witted policeman who happened to be accompanying an unidentified personality to a nearby eatery suspected foul play. Reacting quickly, the officer opened fire on the gang members, leading to an intense exchange of bullets. The policeman's accurate shot took down the driver of the gang, and the remaining members fled on foot, shooting in the air to create chaos. Police reinforcements from the command headquarters arrived promptly, and two of the fleeing robbers were apprehended, while others managed to escape with gunshot injuries. Thankfully, no innocent lives were harmed during the incident, and the stolen items were swiftly recovered.
