Is The Manager Conniving With The Security To Work Against Me? by Onpoint1010: 3:49am On Jul 27, 2023
I worked with two guys and 3 girls as their security chief in a fast food restaurant as contract staffs. The guys were something else but I managed them although we had back and forth arguments because they were trying to disobey my directives.

As time went by, the then manager told me about a vacant position, "Store Manager" and helped me to apply. Unfortunately, he was transferred before I was fully employed so, he handed me over to the new manager and assistant manager.

I was employed and was happy. Those two boys then began to conspired against me, they are psychologically smart and to an extend fearless and manipulative, I like them for that.

Just of recent, they began working against me with the manager, they stopped helping me to offload goods to the store and so, I decided to stop them from entering the store to charge their phones. But they boldly told me that I can't stop them and if I do, they will beat me. They have muscle more than I do. I knew they can beat me but I decided that I won't back down.

Yesterday, I stopped the now security chief from entering the store but the manager told me to allow them. This is the same manager that supported me initially to stop anyone I want from entering the store house and to lock it each time I want to go out.

Right now, I don't know what to do, I feel like the manager is trying to make me powerless in the office.

I want to know, does the manager have the right to ask the guards to keep entering the store room or I should continue to resist them?

Any store man or woman who has had similar experience, how did you overcome it.

cheesy
May their muscles favor you and your family.

Have synergy together, not like Nigeria security agencies working against eachother oo.

Ps: make sure those items in the store room are kept safe, secure, and available for the company, staffs whatever ...anything short of that missing or damage, implicate whoever os involved

OP, you seem troublesome, and the manager must have noticed that. Take things easy & learn to accommodate, if you have not been doing that.

I wonder what you would have done to them if you are more muscular. grin

But if you think they're the ones having problem, I would suggest you apply wisdom. May God help you.

People like u end up with sack and serious beating. I remember working in a fast food in Lagos, when we run out of some stock, our store keeper will call Oregun for supply , those ones may delay for 24hours but d manager will quickly go and buy them with his money to meet up waiting demand. At d end he knows how he balance d books and we make huge profit monthly.
Store keeper that u take important has duty of
assisting Cutter ( slice tomatoes, wash plates,do salad, dice onions, dice carrot and offload waste in d evening). It's isn't a sitting down watching stock as lazily some people applies.Hes only busy time is when they bring stock and d closing of d day. Stock might not even come in on daily bases.
Every body enter store anyhow ( mis reps, baker, cash point etc )since security will search everyone before exit.

My advise----- the store and d cash point are d heart of fast food restaurant. Sales and Stock.

Cooperate with your manager.

Oga don’t allow those guys into the store if it’s against company policy. If the Manager says otherwise send a mail to the Manager reporting those security guys with their threat. Let the Manager respond via mail that you should allow them enter the store. If anything happens in the future he can’t deny you. Accord your manager respect but protect your job.

Whatever you do get all your pieces of evidence ready cos even those girls might bear false witness. They are all jealous you left their level that is what I can deduce from your post.

You can overlook them as if nothing happened but always watch your back. Use email always! Let the person follow the mail trail. That’s what I’ve learnt over the years.

Dem no born anybody well make him talk say him go beat me for office. Two things go happen it’s either I report him for disciplinary action to be taken against him or we fight. E sure me die say I go beat am no matter the muscles. I no say make you go fight o! Make dem no panel beat you. I Dey talk my own.

My dad. Save your life. Begin that by serially applying for jobs all over the place and give yourself a deadline to leave that space. This counsel will extend your days on earth. Trust me

If there's no camera in the room, move some sensitive items and raise a theft alarm.

Trust me, the first suspects will be those who have no business being there plus you will bring the incompetency of the security staff on full display.

Now, we are not just talking about them leaving the room but leaving the company totally.

Never give your foes room to recover and retaliate.

You better report the issue to higher authority,
Because when something gets missing in the store,
The store manager is always the first to collect police slap and detained

File it as an official report/complaint now to anyone who is in a higher management position than that your so called manager in order to avoid stories that touch later. If something goes missing from the store tomorrow, who do you blame? Don't enter cell for something that you are not involved in as those guys can frame you with theft allegations. Make video and audio evidence of all of them coming in and out of that store and save for a rainy day.

You have to be careful or else they will steal something meaningful from the store and put you in trouble. Try to have a one on one conversation with your line manager and discuss extensively with him on this. Don't forget to mention that you were once their supervisor. All the best

U have power to stop them but you don't use it maximally.

If u threatening both manager and security that.....if things lost in the store you will hold them responsible,.....none would dear you and if they dear, u will keep one of properties in the store and raise alarm that either of the security is a suspect.

Next time, even if u beg then to enter they won't try it.

But to tell you the truth, find peace with everyone for u to work and leave peacefully
