I disagree with your first statement o. Gift is a thousand times better than Kanu defensively. While it's true Kanu has been underwhelming, I also won't fault her too much as she's primarily a 9. She does better in the box and excels when her only responsibility is to score goals.

Not sure about Oparanozie sha. It will be experimenting with someone who is battling with fitness and is yet to kick a ball. That's too much gamble.

Noted.

I think Kanu could even do the hold-up play cos I noticed she’s 3 inches taller than Oparanozie, and equally as strong

We can also punish England through Lauren James wing as she isn’t helping the English side defensively too, same way she plays for Chelsea..

England themselves are also scared of us, Aside Tactics which their Coach is also very good at for them to win us they still need to match us Physically and Pace too…

That's one thing some folks do not realise. England leaves too much space at the back that we will certainly exploit. To take Lauren isn't so difficult, Barcelona VS Chelsea showed us that.

Not sure Gift will start, but really hope Kanu doesn't. We need someone who can play with Alozie on the right and Gift did better, even though I felt she also had her own issue. There was one run Alozie made and she beat her man, and Kanu just stayed back looking. Not sure if anyone saw that but I was so furious. If Randy can drill gift to play improve significantly defensively and also to not hold in to the ball to much, I won't mind him starting her.

Curtisaxel10:

Gift jelled better with Alozie. I wouldn't mind her starting over Kanu. The other alternative is Ordega who at this point is worse than Kanu and Gift.

PDPGuy:

Yeah, I agree Gift doesn’t work as much defensively as Kanu. Aside from her goal and attempt vs Ireland that produced the save of the tournament, Kanu has been underwhelming at this WC.

If Oparanozie is fully fit, I wouldn’t mind if she starts on Monday, most especially if Waldrum goes with a 3-5-2. With that formation, Oparanozie would, among other things, be tasked with holding up the ball to bring in Ajibade/Alozie

Play a front 3 of Ajibade, Kanu , Monday..

Let Kanu play as the main striker, let Asisat come on as a super sub...

Only those not watching the game can reach this conclusion. You mean a goal that came from a school boy error that Nigeria isn't likely to make, and a weak short that Chiamaka Wil save?

What significant thing has England done since then?

Lmao. I’ve been banned since yesterday, if not… I go don talk my mind. Shebi na mistakes be all the goals?

To be Sincere China isn’t the China Steel Rose we used to know, the worst of it all is that they’re just too terrible, Defensively very poor. Can’t mark unlike the Falcons that would give you a tough time.

The game against England is an open one even though the olds favours them.

The disrespect 💀😭😭.

This people no believe us at all. As far as they are concerned, this match is a foregone conclusion. They're probably discussing who England will face in the Quarter Finals and the likelihood of them lifting the trophy this year.

Can you imagine the meltdown in the Women Footballing universe if Nigeria won though?

Succinct.

Our ball possession and attacking transition isn't the best but we're defensively disciplined, hardworking, full of running and possess gas tank for days.

England has never had to play an ultra-defensive and strong team like ours before so we'll be a hard nut for them to crack.

They attack in droves, play an open game and will leave lots of holes for us to exploit.

No shaking, we go win

If Nigeria wins that match then I will know F:I:F:A is not corrupt..

England vs Senegal in the mens world cup saw Senegal keeping a high defensive line with their slow defenders means Senegal intentionally lost that match. If Super Falcons keep a high defensive line and allow lots of spaces then I will know Super Falcons have sold the match..

Even the Final Argentina vs France, France was keeping a high defensive line and it was very very obvious "the oga at the top" wanted Argentina to win then during half time break something must have been said to France that they were making it too obvious then France wanted to kill Argentina in the 2nd half and almost won the match if not for that one on one miss..

now imagine if France had played with the same energy in the 1st half... that's not ignoring the fact that Argentina got a penalty in every match.

England will get one or more penalties against the Super Falcons.. and Super Falcons will also have a player sent off with red card..

She's only worse offensively. She's better defensively.

Play her (Ordega) as a CB then.

please Super Falcons are not "strong" and "physical"... those are terms whyte people use to tag Africans as rough and aggressive especially commentators...

so when you a supposed African and Nigerian uses such terms you're admitting that Super Falcons are rough and aggressive which is one of the reasons Super Falcons will get a red card and also cause a penalty..

never ever use such terms again... you use skillful and intelligent which are words I have never ever heard commentators use to describe African players.

If we can keep the game at 0-0 from start to finish, then the game can go either way. Good luck to our girls. We can do it.

Hmmm

I won’t doubt that there is match-fixing at major tournaments because let’s think about this:

I’m a female footballer who, on average, earns $14k/year or a median of $20k/yr. Then someone offers me $80k (or more) to throw a match; to be honest, I would be tempted to take up that offer

you're correct...

the only thing giving me hope is the players seem to be playing well and Waldrum seems to have the passion to want to do well in the world cup.... Maybe he is using the Super Falcons as advertisement and stepping stone..

This girl is playing like this because she never jam ucheibe and ayinde.

They kind making them go give her, her body go tell.

Haiti that played bit physical, they found it had to beat them convincingly.

Unless FIFA will do their "fifaing" that day, I don't see how England will beat SF. This is a walkover game for us.
