3rd attempt at IELTS -

L - 8.5
R - 9.0
W - 7.5
S - 8.5

I’ve always had no issues with L&R, but you see R&W, I wasn’t getting the score I desired in them.

In the past, I always stuck to the word limit when writing and I think that worked against me. After going through the practice platform for IELTS British Council, and I saw that band 9 essays were way more than the word limit, I decided to try that out and I believe that helped me.

For Speaking, I was lucky that I had an idea about all I was asked. Also it was a white person that interviewed me this time (not sure if that was an edge for me).

Materials - IELTS Liz, IELTS E2 YouTube, IELTS BC official practice platform, and a Makkar doc too.

Wow, congratulations.

I don't know how you found the courage to write the third time but kudos to you. My first attempt was some months ago, and my writing was poor. To register again has been an issue because I panic whenever I'm about to select a new date embarassed

Please who has seen their online results for IDP Ielts for 22 July 2023

There seems to be nothing yet and this is the 13th day already. My friend who wrote has been very concerned about this

Modified: Seen... he contacted the Test centre and they reassured that the results are released in batches

His result was as follows: LRWS 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, 7.5 OVR 7.5 ( academic)

cheesy cheesy grin grin
Please register and kill that fear. Just factor in the amount of time you'd need to prepare, into the date you select for the exams. If it's 2 months you need, please calm down and prepare. No one gets a medal for how fast they prepared for their IELTS.

Also, selecting a date puts you on your toes as there would be a countdown in your head.

All the best.

Listening is driving me crazy, I have written ielts 4 times in the past 45 days ( cbt ), and in all I had 7.5 in listening. I am unsure what to do again. House, For someone with ADHD, how can I get 8 in listening?

What is usually your score in practice tests? You should aim to get 9 while practising

Do you try to read questions before listening to the audio? It is recommended to read and try to like guess what the answer might be and the validate with what you are able to get from the audio
Do you pay attention to the instructions, ONE WORD AND/OR A NUMBER etc.
You may want to know the different valid formats for writing things like time, date etc.

It is very likey you already know these but just in case..

This confirms my suspicion. The last time I did IELTS in Nigeria I had 7 but got it changed to 8 when I contested the result. I heard that contested result are reviewed in the UK - dont't know if this is true. Second one was by a white guy outside Nigeria ..got 8 again

PS: ONLY SPEAKING WAS CHANGED FROM 7 to 8.

I contested LWS. Although I had issues with just Speaking, I added Writing and Listening just to stand a better chance of getting my money back.

Normally only WRITING and SPEAKING scores are more likely to change.

Thanks for taking time to respond, I score 32 - 34 durinh practice, I read the instructions but I think I forgot to read the instructions the last time I took the test. Maybe I should just practice more, when I start scoring 38/40 in practice, I will take the exam again, thank you.

Schools you’re applying to should tell you what IELTS type you’re gonna sit for. Since it’s MSc., it would most likely be Academic.

Hi guys

I applied for a remark, max the other sections, and got 6.5 in writing. I received a mail today without stating if the results changed or if it's still the same.
It only stated that they have received the outcome of the Eor, and TRF is available for collection, without any attachment.

Please I need clarity.
