AgentXxx: They have a good case then. They should just reach out to the Council in clear terms. HOWEVER, in the meantime, they should be paying their Council Tax. This happened to me and when the Council finally granted exemption, we were refunded for all paid Council Tax. |

Hello Elders, I plan driving to London from the North East for the passport renewal of my wife and 3 kids. We intend going a day before the appointment and then lodge at an hotel or airbnb. To avoid all the ulez, red zones, blue zones issues around central London(I drive a 2013 Citroën c4 hatchback), I'm thinking we should look for where to lodge in the outskirts of London. We can then get a bus or train early morning on the day of the appointment to the high commission. We also want the kids to visit one or two fun places in London before we return to our North. 😀 Elders, that have done this in the past, what's my best bet and which areas of London can we get an affordable accommodation for one night. Thanks as always. |

teeebest:Have you tried the option of using night bus(coach) and arriving London say 8am. Use the public transport to visit fun places and book return ticket for bus. Just thinking If driving, u can consider visiting Thorpe park. Just check their site to see if such environment is for u 3 Likes |

seunoj: Thanks Boss, that was what I did when I renewed mine earlier in the year. I just want the kids to be a bit comfortable for the journey hence the reason I chose to drive. |

There are not giving any solid reason oo, they just keep hammering that they are only entitled to 25% discount. I personally wouldn’t want them to pay and let’s see how it plays out, I have been sharing screenshots with them so they have the final say on the best way to go about it. Zahra29: |

teeebest: I have just returned from a trip to London from the NE. You have made a good decision to lodge on the outskirts and use public transport to get into London. The 20mph speed limit in Central London almost made me loose my sanity. If it was designed to lessen the traffic in Central London, it certainly isn't working as the traffic is terrible even at 20mph. As for accommodation, try to book a decent aparthotel or Airbnb. The Central London hotel the company booked me in for a night was an absolute shit-hole. 1 Like |

Zahra29: Thank you for this response...l don't have time for too much arguments for what l know and have seen my patients born here in the uk without valid visa for their children being sent heavy bills after surgical procedures in my department. Many people will get NHS international services bills soon if the child needs NHS services without valid visa for the child...... |

Solumtoya: I know parents owing £15,000 NHS bills for simple hernia surgery their children born here in the UK without valid visas.. the bills are quite shocking to them...lol Even the emergency services, it will be done for the children and the parents will receive normal International services NHS Bills later via the post... 2 Likes |

Interesting. Just curious where the vignette will be stamped. Do you have a link to this info on gov.uk? Couldn't place my hands on any. Thanks giselle237: |

Vignette? Who will stamp your passport with Vignette when you’re applying inside the UK? Vignettes is just an entry clearance to enter UK and you don’t need it if you’re already in the UK. Once you visa application is successful UKVI will just send you your BRP. lightnlife: |
