BOSSkesh: *CSOs protest against economic hardship in Osun* traditionalists Says subsidy removal makes life difficult Shina Abubakar, Osogbo Coalition of Civil Society organisations in Osun state on Monday protested against the rising cost of living across the country. The group lamented that the rise in the cost of living as a result of the removal of fuel subsidies has made living difficult for the masses due to the hard economic situation. Addressing the masses at different points while moving through the town, the convener, Waheed Lawal called on the Federal Government to reverse the hike in fuel prices, saying the masses deserve decent living. He condemned what he described as the commercialisation of education and the non-provision of palliatives to the masses amidst suffering. “As Nigerians, God has blessed us with everything we need to live a dignified life but we have bad leaders who don’t care about us. Every human needs food, water, clothing, shelter, and sleep. “The rising cost of living is gradually taking away our dignity; average Nigerians cannot afford to eat twice daily or fuel their vehicles again. The cost of food is high, and the cost of public education is getting higher, and job opportunity is declining everyday”, he said. A leader of the group, Ayo Ologun, said the current economic hardship has further pushed many Nigerians to poverty, saying Nigeria is in multidimensional crisis. His words, “The current economic hardship has pushed millions of Nigerians to poverty; the middle class has fallen; the rich are getting poor and the poor are getting poorer. Indeed, Nigeria is in a multidimensional crisis. There is no sense in any reform that strangulates the prosperity of the common people. BOSSkesh: How old are you, and what do you do for a living? You mean to say that it's too early to complain and protest? Was it not the same thing that the likes of you said about Buhari APC that was brought about by the same Tinubu for 8yrs? Now your and your kind are saying the same thing again, are you suffering from memory loss? Is it okay that within the period of APC rule it has been hellish in Nigeria, inflation, naira devaluation, terrorism, food shortage, subsidy/ government scams etc has been the benefit for the masses? Eni kure! How do you sleep at night knowing that people are suffering terribly with no food to eat, small and medium businesses are shutting down, the middle-class is completely washed out, only the very poor and extremely corruptly rich politicians & businesses men. How do you sleep!? Just look at how the HOA was using "let the poor breath" as intended by tinubu to make fun of the poor masses and civil servants. Afterall they've been promised a whooping 110 billion naira as hardship palliative, what an insensitive thing to do amidst the sufferings of and at the expense of the very poor masses Ronu ooo, have you all forgotten how the Yorubas and hausas led by Buhari and tinubu came out to protest against GEJ even when the economy was not as terrible as this!, And now that the same Yoruba and hausas has made it hellish to be living in Nigeria they still have the effontery to be ridiculously insensitive to the sufferings of their own people and other Nigerians. It shall not be well with whoever that is in support of the hardship and sufferings being dished out to poor and struggling Nigerians. 1 Like |

If he had any, he would have show the sign ever since he declared the removal of fuel subsidy. Or were you not aware when the Buhari government said his government subsidise fuel up till the month of June, but Tinubu came in and removed the subsidy in the month of May. So where is now the money the Buhari government paid for the month of June? At least that question is what people were supposed to be asking the government if only most Nigerians were serious people If not that Tinubu is a criminal who only wants to be an emperor in the whole of Nigeria just as he is in lagos, "why didn't he use that one month Buhari left down for him" to prepare himself and make arrangement for the subsidy removal in the month of july? At least Tinubu should have create a commitee to see through the process and to be giving him feedbacks on how the process goes, especially a commitee to look into the fraudulent nnpc and Ipman activities that is filled with corruption. But no, all the old man ever thought of was how to recover all the money he spent on bribing his way into government from day one in office, after all he is the master of fraud and corruption himself. |

BOSSkesh:Tinubu formed APC alliance which has been in govt since 8+ years. The alliance reduced Nigeria to become the poverty capital of the world. Where was Tinubu all the last 8 years that the alliance he former presided over Nigeria? If Buhari excluded Tinubu from governance of Nigeria, it means that Tinubu has no foresight; he will not be allowed to continue to experiment with 200 million people as Guinea pigs in Nigeria. |

BOSSkesh: Tifnubu will never last in that office, he is a drug addict, a thief with no identity, he will vacate soon with his rotten teeth, and you are very very foolish, what has your 2 president done for Nigeria, one OBJ laid the foundation for Nigeria's present destruction and the other has come to finish it kpa takpata but we will not allow it, why can't the yorubas tell the north to allow the Ibos go, because tyhey know if that happens they will die because the Niger Delta will leave also and hunger will stretch your necks to death |

I am just wondering if it is possible for Joe Ajaero, who openly aligned with Peter Obi, to be politically neutral and act in the national interest. This protest and nationwide strike he has called for looks like a political stunt, especially considering that the current government has agreed to increase the minimum wage and that all major presidential candidates, except Kwankwaso, agreed that they would remove fuel subsidies. Including Peter Obi, who said they would go IMMEDIATELY. This strike is unnecessary and very ill-timed, more so when Nigeria is facing a crisis in Niger Republic that could spill over into Nigeria and destabilise our economy and political institutions. I may not support President Tinubu, but the palliatives and measures he announced two days ago were far-reaching and should have caused Labour and Ajaero to pause. But it didn't. What is their agenda? This is about Nigeria, and it is time for us to be patriotic and do what is in the country's best interest, no matter who is President. I am not sure that Ajaero would take this action if his friend, Peter Obi, were President. What exactly does Joe Ajaero want? Even his own home state of Imo has introduced palliatives. Should Nigeria continue to spend more on fuel subsidies than she spends on education, health, and housing? How is that economically viable? And can Mr Ajaero explain why the pump fuel price in neighbouring Benin Republic went up as soon as Nigeria ended fuel subsidies? Nobody should take us backwards to a Buhari era where we were borrowing to pay for fuel subsidies and tripled our foreign debt with nothing to show for it. Fuel subsidies must go, whether this present NLC likes it or not. By Reno Omokri |

BOSSkesh: Ogbeni shut up, so everybody against Tinubu is now non Yorubas or Obi's people. Give them time is d crap idiots like you keep saying. If everyone just accept whatever the government does, just like Buhari, 8 years will pass and this government will do nothing. They'll even loot the so called money they claimed to save. Remove tribalism from your eyes, we too came from d west, doesn't mean we'll support evil coz our person is on d seat. Know that suffering has no tribe or religion, and if u feel this Tinubu's madness hasn't reach you, know that it has definitely reach someone you know, whether family or friends. |
