Defence Chiefs from Mali, Niger, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, and Guinea are conspicuously absent from the meeting currently ongoing in Abuja. Defence Chiefs from Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Senegal, The Gambia, Cote D’Ivoire, and Cape Verde are in attendance at the meeting, which is taking place at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. Besides there is no well-respected figure among the crop of leaders superintending the various member countries at the moment... Tinubu has serious legitimacy question known to almost everybody on the continent... The Ghana president Addo has led his country to recession and is increasingly unpopular... The leaders of Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire have their hands full with opposition to attempts to manipulate their respective constitutions to allow them exceed prescribed constitutional term limits.
