No that’s wrong . People don’t need to die while doctors mourn the death of another doctor .

Their deaths won’t bring back the young doctor to life. Most of their demands on the memo is good , but that part about doctors going on strike no go well o.

Do you know how many times they have demanded and asked for these changes to be effected?

Ahn ahn.. So how do you get government to react if you don't do something this drastic

Bros this your stance no follow at all,
e sweet for thought but when you have a loved one who need urgent Medival attention, you’ll realize that your opinion no fit amend things at all, so many will die cause of the death of one person, case of cutting the nose to spite the face.
You think when people die, the government money get consider doing something?, check the issue of ASUU, the lecturers haven’t been paid the 8months salaries, what makes you think they’ll change the policies to suit the health workers?

Seems you’ve forgotten that Nigerian government run this for me I do you shit?’

Toyin Abraham is from Auchi in Edo State. She isn't Yoruba. She's only as Yoruba as Reno Omokri is. Or as Yoruba as Amaechi, an Ikwerre man, is Igbo.

She was insulted because she made a choice which was obviously not for the country's benefit.

Like Adunni Ade revealed when her life was threatened in March, they were all paid handsomely and promised more personal gains. Even Toyin complained her husband was/is against her support for Tinubu. This made Nairaland frontpage. Her husband is Yoruba, by the way.

Nairaland has high SEO value so it's better to set these things straight for posterity sake.. The false depiction of things to tag Peter Obi's supporters as the aggressors when you were the ones caught on camera threatening and maiming innocent voters is the most cruel kind of gaslighting.

Some of us never forget the fine details.

Or. How do you get them to listen? Abi doctors nor be human being?

I am not saying they should or shouldn't strike

I am telling you that the people you want to hold accountable do not use those facilities

Arrow bawo? 🤷🏼‍♂️

They should better prove and find out when last the elevator was serviced , why it wasn’t serviced as at when due and punish anybody culpable in the investigations .

Lmao.. Have you listened to the accounts of different medical staff from that hospital?

As at 2020 there was a tweet complaining about that elevator.
Infact the occupants of that elevator has consistently reduced from 6 to 1 with the elevator losing power from time to time to quick fixes.

That elevator needed to be changed.

There was a time Ikeja Electric had a faulty old elevator at the HQ and by 2016 it was experiencing madness.
They changed it by 2017.

That's how you are proactive.
Ahn ahn.. For a place that requires doctors going to the 10th floor

So is by allowing patients on admission to die the only way to make govt do the needful ?

At least the government has ordered an inquiry into what happened and we are hoping they come up with something at the end of the day.

Me I don’t support the strike because I dey imagine if I have a child on bed at Mersey hospital and doctors just go on strike at a time he needs serious medical care……I go nearly craze

And the main reason for the revisionist attempts of the events leading up to, during and after the elections is simple: You realised you fûcked up. You and yours.

You backed the wrong horse decked in the shinniest of garbs. Then the race began and it's turned out to be a worn-out, old tired horse which should have been put to pasture.
With the stark reality of the better, healthier horse breezing past, you'd rather taint it with false accusations to manipulate its public perception to buy you time while you hope against hope that your tired horse gets back on its hooves.

But what's a tired horse to a thoroughbred stallion? Reality stares you in the face, distinguished Nairaland political punters!

U are seeing everything through the lens of politics . The late doctor is a victim , the people u are saying should be allowed to die to send notice to government are also victims .

How is it so convenient for u to even imagine people will die due to the doctors’ strike and u aren’t really bothered ?

This emotional blackmail nor go work.
Nobody is choosing to allow you die.
Doctors are workers who are free to hold their employers accountable.

If doctors are so so special then why are they not treated that way?
Infact how many industries perform miracles with the limited tools available like doctors?

Wooh again let the people that have alot at stake drag the government

Yea, Toyin Aimakhu is an Edo indigene, so too is Mercy Aigbe, but people tend to forget because of how well they've assimilated into the Lagos/Yoruba culture.

Lagos for a very long time was a place where tribalism wasn't front and centre, and probably still isn't, but it's sure in the purview. I know what I witnessed personally after the gubernatorial elections...thing was pretty much a grudge match for a good number of Yoruba's in my polling unit and what was the reason...a fictitious association of Igbo's (in general) saying Lagos is No Man's land in the build-up to the elections.

That Igbo's are saying Lagos is No Man's Land was a very effective campaign strategy from the APC/BAT camp, it's sad that things had to get to that, cause I feel they'd have won the election without such false and divisive rhetoric.

Your forgot calling a strong opposition candidate an Igbo man campaign strategy,Jimi agbaje from anambra grin

Funny enough politics defines everything.
The type of politicians installed will determine how the institutions function in this country.
You think I am not bothered?
Again how do you want doctors to trust the words of government when the same doctors have been calling attention to this same issue for years..

Why should there be trust now?

Since you know the bolded, you should understand that whoever was insulting Yorubas does not speak for Igbos/Other tribes.

Nothing i say to Reno would heal the hurt from what he said.

So, i console myself with the fact that he is alone.

That's why I wasn't abusing every other tribes because someone from there tribe says something.

That's my entire point.

I am not holding brief for the government ( They have people paid to do that ), I’m speaking for the people in areas around those 3 hospitals .

People with life threatening ailments that requires surgery will be at the mercy of nurses who will just be giving them basic analgesics while waiting for doctors to call off the strike .

Children who require close supervision by doctors while on admission will be left to their fate . Even pregnant women in Island maternity who will need Caesarian section will just continue to labour on the bed while hoping doctors will call the strike off .

All of that will happen to the people if the doctors go ahead with the strike .

Let’s just hope the government reaches out to the doctors and prevail on them to shelve the strike

It’s not an emotional blackmail.

You’re not seeing the picture, Nigerian govt have been dragged countless times on crucial issues but still no light at the end of the tunnel, but you saying they should allow people die in order to force them is funny like we don’t know Nigerian govt.

Let’s be realistic please
