The Nigerian Medical Association, Lagos State chapter, has directed all the doctors working in the three Government hospitals on the Lagos Island to begin an indefinite strike over the death of its colleague, Dr Vwaere Diaso. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid037u7zHiEsiZdCeEA1qq7ACVoqcxnmzoKwJxqP1UFbnsAaYMapHWyLiUQKnQhPYVMAl&id=100063712673640&mibextid=Nif5oz No life deserves to be lost at the workplace over a preventable cause. Many more are at risk if we continue to excuse the failure of the Government to make the workplace safe and conducive for health practitioners who are already devoting their lives to public service https://twitter.com/nard_nigeria/status/1686736913686790145?t=qkQMXBGZCaevnzBMzMGRjw&s=19 10 Likes

If you check well, this accident was due to someone's gross negligence. People need to start facing full consequences of their actions in this country. 87 Likes 7 Shares |

Same script always. Allow nonsense fester, when someone gets close to paying the price, do some knee-jerk shutdowns, soon as someone blinks, let all guilty party fly away with a slap on the wrist. Rinse and repeat. Same scenario played out when David Hundeyin exposed Max Air and their carelessness with people's lives with poorly maintained/checked airplanes. 20 Likes 1 Share |

Why are we like this, must the doctor go on strike because of this, instead of you to ask the government to set up a panel to fish out who's negligence caused her death you're going on strike to kill more inocent soul abi 38 Likes 4 Shares |

GanagiBitrus: Reports were that people had complained about the elevator before sometimes last year. Everyone in the building knew it had issues so it's definitely negligence. 25 Likes 1 Share |

This sound like a foolish decision. So what about all those that are sick that are currently in the hospital? Are they going to be left to die too with this indefinite strike? How can they expect good investigation to be done within 5 days? What they should have asked is for the governor to immediately sack the General manger of the Lagos infrastructure Management agency and hold her accountable for the issue since they said they reported it before. Then investigation can proceed. But suddenly just grounding everything while still requesting thorough investigation sound somehow to me. Nigeria workers need to be trained on other way of negotiating with the government. They brain know nothing besides strike. So person wey get life threatening illness for hospital now go need to be relocated or will they be left to die? 12 Likes 1 Share |
